I'd rather Andrew Luck (who's already a very good QB with all signs pointing to being a great QB) and the cap space his contract allows than an aging Drew Brees with a contract that's what 20% of your cap.
And I'd rather you never post again being you're a arse pimple.

So you'd say your a bigger Drew Brees fan than you are a Saints fan.

No I'm a fan of both. He is our goat and id rather him play for us until his final snap, even if that would mean passing up getting Luck and a secured 15 year future. Even if I knew we'd be stuck with another Aaron Brooks after Brees retires I still wouldn't trade him.

Can you imagine the record books if he plays 10 more years?!

Yes.

Luck is a lot younger with more upside and arguably a better deep ball, imo. I love Brees, but this is easy.

Really? Easy?
You say you will completely mess/overhaul the entire team chemistry and thats easy?
Having the entire offence looking into the huddle and have Brees not be there is easy?
I guess Brees really don't do much for the Saints cept....what? Throw some leather ball round the field and cash a paycheck.

Will it be easy to replace AJ?

I haven't read the whole thread, but my opinion is not to trade Drew. You don't try to change your most important position for the future at a time when you have what many consider the most talented saints roster ever right now. Drew is already a HOFer who can win on the biggest stages, and Luck while talented may be the type who can't win the big one or whose style doesn't fit in the Saints system... a lot of "what ifs" in football. Reminds me of the bird in the hand saying.

Any chance we can land Luck in free agency once Brees retires? Or do we go with a rookie QB to start the post Brees era?

Luck is a guy anyone would get behind. It'd be rough at first, but ultimately I'm sure the team would rally behind him.

He was either an overrated game manager or an important piece that Alabama will miss. People can't have it both ways.

I think we will miss him. He brought a lot to the table that Coker probably won't provide, at least not this season. But it will be easy to replace AJ because Coker is more talented. He certainly doesn't have the football IQ and mental makeup that AJ has/had, but learning under Jimbo Fisher for three years and then being in the film room with Nick Saban can lead to a decent acumen for the game, at least. Plus he probably has the best skill position group in the country bailing him out against an incredibly weak schedule.

So, yeah. There's your answer. It will be. I'm sorry I wrote that much for it. It isn't really something that belongs on ST.

Plus, I truly believe that Brees could play for 10 more years. Favre came close, and didnt take care of himself ever.

This thread is insanity. Do you want a Super Bowl window for 3-5 more years or do you want to maybe have a 3-5 year Super Bowl window in the next 15 years? Good lord. It's not even close. You still take Brees right now. He is the perfect compliment to the head coach.

I have been watching the Saints since I was a kid so that's over 30 years of mostly bad football, once the best football player in SAINTS history signed with us it's been the best football of my life so there is no way in hell I trade him for any QB in the history of the NFL much less Andrew freaking luck.I wouldn't take manning and luck for Brees!!!and yes I do put a lot of emotion into my thinking he may very well give us our only CHAMPIONSHIP.I'm riding Brees till he says I'm done and all you idiots who said you rather luck or someone else are no longer SAINTS fans to me go watch the colts.

No way.

We have a better chance at winning a SB with Drew on this team the next 5 years, than we would with Luck.

I agree with this. If we weren't as close to a SB as I think we are, I'd have a different opinion.

Payton will have his next QB lined up before Drew retires anyway.

I don't agree with this. When Brees is gone, it's going to be a rough ride (relatively).
