As much as I've liked Hicks' production so far, I feel like he still hasn't realized his potential.

Few outside of Saints fans have realized how good this guy can be. He is a monster, throwing NFL Olinemen around like they are just practice dummies

still pissed that we started Ellis over Hicks his rookie year. It was painfully obvious to everyone that Hicks was a million times better.

Larry Holder ?@LarryHolder 1m Interesting to see Pierre Thomas go through walkthroughs for the second day in a row with the second teamers. Not sure what to make of it.

I think it's pretty obvious they know what they have in Thomas. He doesn't really need the first team reps. I think they want to give everything to Robinson and Ingram and say go get it guys, let's see who really gets it.

As far as White getting reps at safety..Jesus people calm down. Everyone knows Ryan likes to his guys as versatile as they come so he can disguise just about any formation. I.e. You can have him presnap say covering the nickel and then post snap running back deep to cover or vice versa.
Guys like that are incredibly beneficial to have to be able to move around.

Why is PT running with two's?
He knows his shite and is on the backend of his career. Better to give the 1st team reps to Ingram and Robinson, especially where pass protection is concerned.

Edit:
That's what I get for reading the thread late and not looking through the whole thing first. But yeah definitely more of a case of trying to find the future than something being "wrong" with PT.

I want to dedicate this tweet to all the idiots last year who said the lack of turnovers wasn't that much of a problem.

There are people that actually said this?

Yes, there were some people who said we are fine on defense and Byrd signing was expensive/useless.

He defines as what we needed to fix. For Jenkins to be targeted that much to only grab 2 INTs and force 2 FFs, that's a big issue.

Last year I said that the defense played well enough for us to win. Of course you want turnovers, but I didn't want to pin the blame on the late season slide on the defense, because it really wasn't on them.

Exactly. Manning didn't exactly have a cannon last season and you see what happened. Records fell unfortunately.

While I agree you dont have to have a huge arm to be successful and all that, Manning was the 2nd best QB last year on pass attempts going 20yards or more last year. 38-83(2nd most attempts in the NFL) ,a 48.2% completion % which is 2nd best, for 1299yards (most off the deep ball) with 12 TDs and 5 INTs. Manning can still throw the deep ball.

And in regards to training camp:
Love hearing all the stuff about Hicks. Hes gonna be a monster.

Corey White moving around isnt a big deal. Hes a solid youngster with good experience and has a versatile skill set. Giving him reps at both spots doesnt mean we are moving him to a new spot or that he is on thin ice. Nothing wrong with a guy learning every DB position, in fact thats a good thing.

Like that we are giving Khiry 1st team reps. We need him to have a good year and the coaches are making sure he gets all the reps he needs to get ready for the season. And PT running with the 2s doesnt mean that much IMO. We know what we have in him and he knows everything there is to know about our system / playbook / playing with Brees, etc.

Good to hear Toon has been impressing so far. Everybody has been waiting for him to become a viable option for us, just has had some injuries and some ups and downs early on. Hopefully hes figuring it out.

SJB is gonna be a GREAT fit for us. But he still is a rookie. Hes gonna have his ups and downs this year, like 99% of rookies have. But I am very excited for the future with him out there.

Sounds like Griffin struggled in 1 series, but looked solid after that. Which is awesome to hear.

Good to hear Nic Jacobs' name as well. He was at LSU for 2 years then transferred to Mcneese. Very talented pass catching TE, but lets just say he didnt fit in a Les Miles ran offense. But hes a talented kid. Hopefully he sticks around.

Any word on Victor Butler?? Didnt see his name really, if any.

I think most of us pinned the losses on the offense sputtering on the road a whole lot more often than they did at home.

The defense held NE for how many drives before Brady's miracle? 2 or 3. All the offense needed was a 1st down after the pick.

Butler took snaps with the 1's yesterday, and Haralson took snaps with the 1's today. Tomorrow is a live practice, so they'll probably be sticking out more.
