It doesn't have the character it used to but I'd say yes, it's worth the trip. It's very nice, just doesn't have the same New Orleans flare.

Ya mean the Ditch Walk? Not much of a river, hell, Bayou Nezpique is wider than that ditch.

Not sure the river walk was meant to be a tourist destination

It's full of shitty outlet stores so I guess it depends how you feel about that

Outlet stores aren't even always the best deal either. Sometimes it's lower quality stuff of whatever brand.

Most of the time it's a lower quality version of the brand with a few exceptions

We have stores like Marshall's, Tjmax, etc. Out here I can buy name gear stuff like Nike, under armour for like 70% off.

At least New Orleans walk is on a real river not a 2ft deep fake river.

Those usually carry defective items that don't pass QC, most of the time you can't tell the different though

Well I did have the crotch blow out of one of the under armour shorts I bought. Damn and I thought it was me.

Riverwalk = not good.

Expensive parking, stores with 'sales' that are regular prices. Food court that was okay. For a tourist destination in New Orleans I thought it severely lacking in anything that called out to a visitor that you're in NOLA enjoy yourself. At least play Jazz over the speakers or decorate it authentically.

I really think the Riverwalk was built to be cruiser bait. New Orleans is more of a destination/departure port than many others. People at the Erato or Julia terminal will see the Riverwalk right there and check it out. It's like every port of call you ever go to and the tourist shops it draws in. Not many of those shops I see are draws to locals. I think Gonzales still has better options as far as an outlet mall.
