I'll give it a go. I haven't worked out in several years. I'm an out of shape 46.

Started practicing half an hour ago. 3 sets of 10 so far. Prolly won't be able to lift my arms tomorrow.

I'm gonna leave this here for those that think over 300 pushups a day is too much.

I saw nothing in that video that said you should do that everyday

What do you mean? In what ways do you think it would be bad for you?

You're working the same muscles over and over, not giving them anytime to rest and recover.
Your body builds muscle by rebuilding it after it breaks down (like it does when you work out).

If you don't give the muscles proper time to recover, at some point you will start to see less and less, and eventually no gains from your workout, and actually if you work the same muscles repeatedly without letting them rest over a significant period (like a month) you could actually start to lose muscle mass

ETA: Don't just take my word for it

And that is true for actual weight lifting but this doesn't involve weight but instead just your own natural body weight.

I see nothing wrong with doing pushups every single day for the rest of time.

It's just a challenge. We aren't trying to optimize our health here

For someone that is in shape they might eventually lose a bit of muscle mass but it is not like they are going to whittle down to nothing. Kind of like people who run everyday and still have muscular legs. I agree it really does not make a lot of sense a a workout strategy but I still dont get how it would be bad for your body as you stated.

I can see if for maybe the out of shape people but even then they'll probably be cutting weight some. I can't imagine it being too big of an issue for push ups.

Also im gonna struggle with this one. I need long breaks between sets. Knocked out about 50 yesterday and feeling very sore, but this is good to get the initial soreness out.

I know everybody in here is a giant badass, but if you are doing 333 pushups everyday you are most likely going to be working your muscles pretty hard, regardless of whether it is only body weight you are lifting

I don't fully disagree with this, it's a good way to keep your muscles toned and maintain your strength while slowly increasing, but 333/day is seriously minimizing returns
