If you wanna do it for fun, that's cool, but pushups are considered strength training and strength training is supposed to be something that is hard after a few sets of only a small number of reps.

If you're doing hundreds of pushups, you're not longer strength training. You're doing cardio.

Gonna be hard on my hungover days but I'll plow through.

Let's annoy the frick out of the OT and bump this every day for the next 30 days.

It's most certainly not that black and white.

I don't know anyone who considers push-ups true strength training.

Yeah push ups are going to make you cut up, not grow bigger. I kinda see her point but it's more relevant when discussing using weights.

While doing hundreds of pushups won't HURT, it gets to a point where it's hardly helping and simply getting your heart rate up. Once it's retarded easy for you, it's like lifting a pencil 200 times or something

At least every single bodybuilding and workout website/book I've looked to about that stuff says that. I was on a "see how many crunches and pushups I can do" kick, and once I looked into it, everything I read was basically like "Unless you make it more challenging for yourself (like adding inclines and extra weight), it turns into just cardio"

Add weight on your back or put your feet higher than your head.

Well, I don't know anyone like that personally either, but that's because people are big into weights rather than body as weight.. which makes sense since it's quite easy to get used to lifting your own body.
