The issue isn't who offered a cease fire first, it's the details of the offer that matters. FYI, Japan offered a conditional surrender a month before we nuked them, but Truman rejected it because he wanted an unconditional surrender.

I don't see the logic in denying the Palestinians another election, especially when they were very likely to have thrown Hamas out before Bibi served them up a ready-made martyrdom campaign this summer.
