Doing that after hemming and hawing for so long about Lerner's hard drive and the backup tapes would open them up to a colonoscopy by Congress and the courts investigating the matter.

I don't know, it worked for DOJ with a presidential executive privilege cherry on top. Haven't read or seen much about fast and furious lately.

Koskinen, though, said he was advised in February only that there was a discrepancy in the number of emails turning up from Lerner before 2011 and that there was a "problem" with Lerner's computer. He said the problem was not described to him in any greater detail at the time.

He was "advised" of this, and didn't ask a single fricking follow-up question, such as "why would there be a discrepancy" or "what kind of problem with Lerner's computer"?

This shite reeks so bad

Z Street, a Jewish state advocate, filed suit in 2010 when their lawyers were told that all Israeli supporting groups applying for 501 (c) (4) status were being put in a “ special units ” division to determine whether the organization's positions contradict those of the administration.

Since the case was filed in 2010, didn't the IRS have a duty / obligation from that very moment (2010) to preserve ALL RELEVANT documents under threat of obstruction of justice !!!

On May 27, 2014 a federal judge ordered the Z Street case to go forward, and dismissed the U.S. governments claims that the federal courts lacked jurisdiction.

I would like to see that quote. I sincerely doubt it was worded in such a manner, but if it were Washington would melt the frick down.

So, who WOULD have jurisdiction?

whether that made it to the President, doubtful.
Well, according to our leftist media pumping up Gov. Christie's "Bridgegate," it doesn't have to. It's "the culture" he created that encouraged this.

I mean, the whole "punish your enemies", spy on reporters, barricading parks/monuments, etc. sounds like Christie-style bullying to me.

Right, lefties?

I mean if someone within his inner circle did orchestrate the targeting, he is ultimately responsible. You want to wear the big boy pants, you are responsible for the people you surround yourself with.

My point is I don't think he said "Hey, IRS, go target these groups" and I don't think there is any evidence thus far or that will come out that he took part in it.

You got to remember, this was 2010 when Obama and company were brazen, as was the IRS, they thought they were above the law, imho, and had zero thoughts or worries about the press holding their feet to the fire.

This is the exact quote, AS TOLD TO Z STREET LAWYER.

The group only filed a lawsuit after “their lawyer” was told by the IRS that groups connected to Israel receive special scrutiny, and that some are sent to a special unit to derermine whether the organization's positions contradict those of the administration.

This came from an interview that Z Street president Lori Lowenthal Marcus did with Gteta Van Sustren on her show, Own the Record, in early May of this year.

“ After we filed our lawsuit, (2010) the IRS began having several positions on why it took so long, ( getting approved for 501 c 4 ) one was because terrorism happens in Israel. Therefore, they had to look into our organization, because they thought we might be funding terrorism. We are a purely educational entity. We didn't fund anybody; we barely funded ourselves !”

Google Z Street lawsuit vs. the IRS, there are many blogs and interviews on this.

MY POINT though, doesn't this spell bad news for ANY LOST DOCUMENTS OR EMAILS, after this lawsuit was filed in 2010 ? Isn't any and all lost documents an obsruction of justice charge ?

Agreed. I think the Blago tapes illustrate that the Chicago crowd is probably pretty wary about what gets said on recordable media.
