The numbers for both are well ahead of last gen. They are both doing great. Yes, they are behind Sony but it's a long console cycle. They also have exclusives coming out this fall to help.

I just don't believe anyone thought they would be in a hole in North America. Especially after last gen, that's the biggest thing I think.

People didn't expect that and I think most of that can be attributed to price and horrible marketing at launch. They are still doing great overall. Playstation is just doing better.

Times have changed and people are buying more consoles, you think Microsoft doesn't find it troubling that they are lagging behind? Also outside of launch Xbox One has been selling pretty slow, even in their home country. Europe is even worse.
Add that in with much higher software sales for third party's on Playstation and you can see the hole they're in.

In a five week period, also about 100,000 units behind Sony. It doubled from 77,000 units, a horrible May posting.
I'm not saying Xbox One is doomed but with the introduction of the $399 sku they still didn't come close to matching Sony and really don't have anything until MCC to increase their sales. There is no doubt some people held off in May for the cheaper option around the corner.
With The Last of Us hitting/huge marketing push for Destiny on PS4 the next two months could really be bad for Microsoft in the USA. Europe is pretty much over, I don't know what they're going to do over there.

Well Europe was never going to be for Xbox. That is all Sony territory.
My point still remains that sales numbers picked up and the they new sku didn't start until June 9th. Yes, PS is beating them right now but wasn't it in reverse for a while last gen? This fall They have Halo and Sunset Overdrive. Does Sony have anything?

They have Halo, Sunset Overdive will be like Infamous but maybe I'm wrong (meaning a good game not a system seller).
Also MCC is really for the diehard Halo fans and I imagine most people that are big Halo fans already have the One (myself included). I'm willing to wager that the MCC collection tracks around 2/3 million for the year and bumps up the sales of the One for a month or two.
I still think PS4 sells better over the Holidays because it's the hotter console. Third Party drives sales these days and more people are playing on PS4. Just look at the recent releases most track better on PS4 (some way better like Watch Dogs). Over the holidays Advanced Warfare will sadly be the biggest game.

I think so too. It does add another game though to increase the library.
As for the 3rd parties, last year you had a lot of talk about one version being better than the other. I don't think it will be a big deal this year like it was last year. Time will tell though. I just think the gap will close at some point and it will be close through the end.

yep. software drives system sales.
xbone will not price drop right before releasing their biggest games of the year.

Nintendo says hey and are currently tracking behind Sony and soon to be Microsoft, could that be because they basically have no third party support? It's no confidence their only game in forever sold good, people were starving for a game to play on the Wii U. Next one will be Smash, already have it pre ordered.
Also Watch Dogs sold the most in June so I don't know what you're getting at.

Can't say I have kept up with them.
I know MK8 would be my first purchase.
Not sure what else to go with. There is not to many gametypes I will say no to. I'm an open book.
