Just a douche looking to get a rise out of people for attention and sadly ignorant people will give it to him.

You ever come across medals in your business?

Nope, if that was really earned I doubt it would be in a store.
I don't know man, Lieutenant Dan ain't got no legs man

No which is surprising because we cover the area around Ft Polk. I was up around there today actually.
I have come across lots of gear like camo fatigues, camo packs, etc.

As much as I want to agree with you, the fact that he bought it negates any meaning in the medal in my eyes. If it was one of his family member's then he would/should get his arse handed to him by his family. At this point, it is nothing more than a shiny piece of metal.

but of course, it could have also been sold or left behind as part of an estate and maybe should have been retired by some other means than this little frick

Why does it bother you? I don't think he was doing it to purposely disrespect anyone. It looks like he was trying to show how indestructible the medal is.

I also agree with that. I would rather see old medals be turned back to the military than sold in a store. Hard to believe that someone let something like this even go to an estate sale.

Oh I didn't watch the video. It just bothered me knowing he damaged it and no one told him the history behind it.

That's a heavy breathing double chinner...

You formed an opinion on a video that you didn't even watch?

My opinion was based on my knowledge of what the Medal represents.
Posted on 7/22/14 at 9:54 pm to jmcs68

I dunno. Maybe the person who earned it didn't put much value on it. Or maybe he did and gifted it to his heir who in turn didn't value it all that much. I have no idea other than that the person who earned it has far more say than I do. The medal commemorates the event but the event itself is what deserves the honor.
