Knowshon is still a good RB...no reason why he wouldn't get first crack if he can get his weight right

The Dolphins did not get enough from Miller last year in his first season as a starter. Miller rushed for just 709 yards and two touchdowns while disappearing in many games. That led to Miami signing free-agent tailback Knowshon Moreno, who is coming off a career year with the AFC champion Denver Broncos. On paper, Moreno was expected to secure the starting job from Miller without much resistance. But that hasn’t been the case. Miller has been the better tailback in Miami this offseason and got first-team reps throughout in new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor's new scheme. Moreno arrived a bit out of shape and has been slowed by a knee injury that required surgery. Moreno will attempt to get back to 100 percent in training camp, but he has a lot of ground to make up before Week 1.

dolphins position battle

This is one to watch in preseason. Regardless, this is not the place to look for your RB1 IMO.

Worst draft pick ever...at least busts go away in 2-3 years, JS has been a thorn for 7 getting 2 big contracts

Eric Decker, their big free-agent splurge, looked fantastic. He caught two balls in team drills, as did Stephen Hill. No official stats, but it's safe to say Decker was targeted more than any receiver. Early prediction: Decker will be among the league leaders in targets. None of the young receivers stood out.

people seem to be forgetting about him. There's still almost 300 receptions withe Jets....who's going to take them away from Decker?

I get what you're saying about the receptions, but is Decker good enough to get those targets being a #1 receiver with def coods focusing on taking him out of the game?

Whether or not the targets are on target matters as well. I hope he plays well but he's in WR3 territory for me until he shows otherwise. Not exactly someone I'd look to target.

in Denver with Tebow he caught 8 TDs and
led Denver in recs & yards that year even with Dthom and Lloyd on the other side.

as a second year player, with Tebow throwing, he avg 9.5 pts/game PPR(even though he went catchless in 2 games)

Ok, but my point is the isn't a DT on the other side on the Jets that the def focuses on. I'm not saying Decker is a garbage can, but can he live up to being a #1?

Kendall Hunter and Vick Ballard both tore achilles in camp. Both likely out for 2014.

I was thinking Ballard might be the odd man out in Indy with Richardson and Bradshaw, but I also saw Ballard listed as No. 2 on a depth chart, so I guess this is news.

In San Fran, this is good news for Carlos Hyde who will now have less competition for second fiddle.

Another casualty . . .

San Francisco 49ers running back/kick returner LaMichael James could miss one month after being carted off the 49ers' practice field Sunday with a dislocated elbow, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday. According to Rapoport, James' injury occurred during a blitz pick-up drill.

James' injury is the second significant blow for the 49ers at the running back position in two days. On Sunday, No. 2 running back Kendall Hunter tore his ACL. He is expected to miss the entire 2014 season. San Francisco now only has two healthy running backs who are almost certain to make the team out of training camp — starter Frank Gore and second-round draft pick Carlos Hyde.

Hyde stock keeps rising.

its funny because years ago the DWill/Stewart 1-2 punch looked like an unstoppable duo. I have no idea why the panthers doubled down on both backs and gave them nice extensions though.

Josh Gordon - WR - Browns
A source informed Profootballtalk that suspended WR Josh Gordon's failed drug test barely generated a positive, and it would have been a negative had luck been on Gordon's side.
Gordon was summoned for a urine sample. Those samples are split into two bottles, one marked "A" and the other "B." It's completely random which one is marked "A" and which is labeled "B." "A" is tested first, and if it generates a positive test, then "B" is tested. The limit is 15 nanograms-per-milliliter. Gordon's "A" bottle showed a concentration of 16 ng/ml, while his "B" registered a 13.6 ng/ml. The result was a failed test. If urine sample handlers would have by chance marked the "A" bottle "B" and the "B" bottle "A," then Gordon would be free to play. Gordon is appealing the ban, and his hearing will be held on Friday. There seems to be a decent chance he wins.

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson (hamstring) left practice Tuesday, July 29, with a strained hamstring.

Johnson stayed away from the team facility this offseason as he was unhappy with the perceived direction (down) of the offense and the quarterback play. Now he's back and banged up. The veteran needs to get back into football shape, but the team won't rush him back here.
