It's a title we may lose if we continue down the current path. When the SEC maintained the "permanent cross-division game" they claimed they were concerned about maintaining tradition.

When it came to television contracts, tradition was not considered so we continue to play a ton of day games. With our top OOC game being shipped to Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, etc. each year, we may soon be left with no quality night games.

Tiger Stadium will still be one of the top in the nation but it's sad to see our night game atmosphere tradition being discarded due to money.

Maybe would could add a retractable roof we could close during day games. We'll just dim the lights and pretend it's at night.

Supposedly they worked out a deal with CBS this year to fix this problem. We shall see how that works out...

Agreed. However, it's unmatched for the premier games. The stadium itself has more to do with the loudness anyway. The stands are Damn near 10 yards off of the field and they are steep.

Of course lsu fans just like to say they are louder than all other fans

What is it about our fans that make us such a loud stadium? I know Cajuns are naturally loud, but there's got to be more to it than that. What do you think?

1. LSU fans are drunker on average than the average fan of other colleges.

2. Our stands are steeper than most stadiums, so it's better at trapping the sound without using gimmicks like canopies (looking at you Seattle).

3. Our tailgating is still the envy of the world despite the fact that it's nothing compared to what it was 5 years ago (thanks retard TAF and LSU administration!)

History of playing at night.

We are one of the few college fanbases that expect and genuinely want every big game to be at night and, importantly, who have been that way for 50+ years.

There's other factors, but I honestly think this is what is most unique about LSU.

The kids will find a way to throw vulgar language into any song the band does if they want to. Let them have their fun....it gets them into the game and the players seem to feed off of it as well. I've learned as a 44 year old...that the atmosphere is more for the college kids & players than what I think.

No matter how old you get as soon as you walk back into that stadium it all comes racing back - the emotion, the last second wins, old friends, etc.

The Old Ball Coach said "you can smell the bourbon the minute you walk into TS". Sad to say, fans now seemingly prefer to do the bulk of their drinking at their tailgate parties, leaving early to do so. But, yea, for bama, O.Miss & an odd big game or two, TS can still give you chills.

It's because we haven't been corporate-ized yet. Most major programs have made going to their games so expensive, that only businesses and corporations can pay for people to go. So hardcore LSU fan that can afford to go to games now, won't in the future. But Joe Blow can go cause he got tickets from work. They are also pushing tailgates further to the outskirts of the campus. Because they are starting this here, TS will not be as scary in the future.

That's because the students are frisked coming into the stadium. Also, people want to have some idea what's going on during the 3 other marquee games being played while LSU is trouncing some winless in SEC play also-ran or some OOC rent-a-win. Sometimes, people would rather watch 2 teams with a pulse play on TV with a bunch of friends, food, and alcohol than sit in a crowded stadium sobering up while LSU scores another touchdown to go up by 35.

I think it's all the empty seats after halftime, when LSU is beating the sisters of the poor by 4 TD's. Or when the stadium is empty because it's raining or because traffic is going to be a legit cause for multiple homicides after the game.
