Not sure why no one suggests hotels in Denham or Gonzales. They're not too far and they cost less than hotels in BR proper.

I stay in Gonzales most times, multiple options to campus. I think the only visiting team fans that have clued into that are AU and UF, I've seen hoards of them at the new(ish) Holiday Inn near the interstate.

For the best stay, book a room on 190 in the motel West Baton Rouge. Lots of night life there. You can eat at the Slop yard cafe, sorry that is the stock yard cafe. Oldest cafe in BR. Great fried chicken and greens. You know, soul food. Just across the old bridge. Hit Airline Hwy. bars after the game.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Pastime. It is the quintessential LSU bar and restaurant.

I'd send someone to Chimes way before Pastime for a "quintessential LSU bar and restaurant."

I've been going to games in BR for the better part of 15 years and I haven't once set foot in Pastime

Pastime is alright and it's definitely a relic, but I wouldn't send someone from out of town in for a game there unless they were like 75.
