Some classic Garner TV episodes:
Maverick:
"Shady Deal At Sunny Acres" -- Garner's own favorite from Maverick. The plot was late ripped off by The Sting.
"Gunshy" -- a parody of Gunsmoke
The Rockford Files:
Unfortunately most of my favorite RF episodes are not on YouTube. But there are still a few classics there:
"Chicken Little Is A Little Chicken"
"The No Cut Contract" -- Rob Reiner guest stars as a douchey minor league QB
"The Aaron Ironwood School Of Success"

He made every character so likeable , very few actors can do that anymore
So true. I'm not sure I ever saw him do a character I didn't like.
And a 56 year marriage in Hollywood is to be equally saluted.
RIP, Jim Garner.

He was great in Murphy's Romance too.

He died years ago in the Notebook

I always thought he had a fresh unique take on his characters. Not the cookie cutter performances you so often saw on tv back then.

Garner did sardonic humor as well as anybody.
He also had some good films:
"Barbarians at the Gate"

Also, a big fan of My Fellow Americans. Lemmon and Garner were hilarious.

Which is why he was so sorely miscast as Woodrow F Call in "Streets of Laredo".

The Great Escape is one of my favorite all-time movies. James Garner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, ...
