I'm not able to watch, but he gained a decent amount of weight for him, maybe that was a bad thing?
Possibly. He's still blocking a decent amount of shots, which we knew he could do. Everything else has been rough though.

I think he's a great example of rebounding being about instincts as much as anything else. He's still not grabbing anything that doesn't fall into his lap.

Outside of the occasional blocked shot, what has he done well, though?

Right now Cody Zeller is giving it to him

Yeah, that wingspan makes up for maybe being an inch or two short. I don't see how he doesn't at least get a camp invite

Also seems like they've made their minds up about Josh Howard. He hasn't even played.

Withey is playing with scrubs and has zero control over ball distribution while Charlotte has multiple 1st rd picks on the floor. This summer league team is destined to suck with such talent disparity.

I'm not really talking about his offensive game though. Maybe i'm being too hard on him, but what they're asking him to do really shouldn't be affected by who he's playing with.

They basically asked the same things out of Withey and Young this summer. Just defend and grab rebounds. I think Young has performed better.

And as i'm typing this, Patric Young just started from behind the 3 point line after setting a pick, and attacked a rebound. Withey was standing under the rim and didn't touch the ball.

Side note: Russ Smith is still getting into the lane at will. He makes really nice kick out passes.

Ok, Fells...I see you. Bring him and Darius Miller to camp to compete at SF with Salmons. Call it an offseason.

He has a more liberal license to shoot in these games, but he clearly is a comfortable shooter on the wings. He has shown some defensive prowess, too.

it's not like he's creating his own shot on these 3's.
They are catch and shoot 3's. You don't need a liberal license to shoot open 3's in the NBA, if you're a good 3 point shooter, especially if that's his role on the team.

last game he came running hard off a pick ala Ray Allen and hit a 3 from the wing. Everything looked good to me considering how fast he was going. Rose up and squared up well and shot looked good, and went in.

4 games and this is what he's done from 3:
4-8 and 19 points
4-6 and 25
2-4 and 6
3-5 and 19 today
56% from 3 in the 4 games. 60% from the field overall. only 2 turnovers
