I'm sure that line was an affront to the ridiculous thread from earlier in the week asking if ESPN was done forcing soccer down our throats.

That big Chevy ad on a jersey that will be worn by hundreds of thousands of people around the world? That's what American investors want to see. Shirt sponsorships are some of the most profitable forms of advertisements in the world, because counterfeit jerseys will still include the corporate logo.

ETA: Not to mention, every time a Manchester United photo is on the internet, that Chevy logo will be featured on the players.

I'm just misunderstanding how they valued the Lakers. They just signed a billion dollar TV deal a year ago and if they were for sale they would go for a lot more than the many of the teams listed before them.
