At 18? Mostly. That said, he wasn't going to be eligible.

no but i've never had such an easy decision in front of me. an awesome year in college versus playing in some shite eastern european city. end result you make millions anyway. its a no brainer. now if he somehow lucked up and got paris or something that might be different.

Paris or Italy or a lot of different European cities lot nicer than campus of SMU, and he'll get paid and not worry about qualifying, grades, all that other NCAA BS.

those cities might be nicer but his experience as an 18 year old will not be. College at that age would definitely be more enjoyable.

You must have been the guy that followed his HS girlfriend to whatever college she choose, because you were worried about losing access to your easy sex.

For you maybe, but not everyone uses your sensibilities.

Different strokes for different folks.

Absolutely.

If he goes for the money, he will end up in Turkey, Russia, or China. I'm almost positive on that.

If he as an athlete seriously couldn't get passing grades at a school like that, then he's on a worse intelligence level than Jennings.

99% of European basketball hardly has the glamor of Paris or Rome. It's mostly long bus rides, shitty gyms, and batshit crazy fans.

From what was posted, it's not about grades at all. It's rumored to be an amateurism issue, meaning someone paid him.

And 30+ year old guys that have been playing pro ball since they were twelve and don't take kindly to an outsider coming in to take their job.

SMU head coach Larry Brown confirms Scout.com's report, regarding Emmanuel Mudiay. He's pursuing professional opportunities.

@GaryParrishCBS
It takes a giant leap to believe Mudiay’s decision wasn’t influenced by eligibility issues. Literally nobody I’ve asked thinks that’s true.

@AndyGlockner
Player claims it's not an eligibility issue. Several plugged-in media members suggest there was one. So, we'll see. Loss for SMU either way.

How is it maybe?

Jennings got paid $1 million from the team and signed an endorsement deal worth another million.

$2 million for one year of shitty euro ball before going to the NBA sounds like a nice deal.

Because there are a lot of teams in Europe that aren't very good about cutting checks that clear.
