No motivation for Denver to do that deal

In any case:

I have a gut feeling that a trade for SF correlates with this casspi thing.

Per @BimaThug, Casspi was used on HOU's end to to match salary w/ Hopson. Without it, Rockets were receiving too much salary in 3-team deal.

This Bimathug guy knows his shite.

Damn. He wasn't the best cure but we have a gaping hole. Surely there's something more out there than a Darius/AFA combo.

Interesting. Yesterday BSS was claiming we had to send more to Houston. I wonder why it was not just structured for us to send Hopson to Washington instead of Houston (unless that somehow affected Houston's TE).

What was the point of taking Casspi in the first place if they are going to waive him?

I think what's going on here is Washington's motivation to S&T Ariza is to generate a trade exception. To maximize their TPE they have to take on as little as possible. We have to send out $5.5 and Houston can only take $12.6 back. Ariza got $8 + our $5.5 = $13.5. Us taking on Casspi for a minimum exception allows the Rockets to take more contracts back which allows the Wizards to maximize the size of the Ariza trade exception by not taking any contracts back?

Would have liked to see us combine Casspi and Babbitt for someone like Dunleavy (who the Bulls were reportedly trying to unload).
