Exactly. It is a cost saving move.

I feel like I remember reading somewhere that it isn't.

Of course...

if some billionaire owner would like to buy off the NIMBYs on that street to knock down the homes and expand the stadium...

Yeah it seems to rain all the damn time in England. Most countries there that have winters like some of ours though take a break for about a month or month and a half.

MLS doesn't play in the winter. The conditions in England for the BPL season are much worse than any city that has an MLS team.

Anybody else get sad when they watch Alonso and know that he may never get to play for the USMNT?

Well I know this but it can still be pretty cold in some areas during the playoffs or early in the season. Also, nice goal by duce.

I like Seattle for what they bring to the MLS, but it's like rooting for the Yankees, cowboys, or heat...just can't do it

Meh not really.

England is on an island with a wetter climate. Seattle, Vancouver and Portland would be the only countries with slightly similar climates.

Even then English rain is typically just a weird foggy mist. They rarely have large thunderstorms.

Chicago in January is way colder than England or even inland Germany.

I thought no way he was onside at first.

But this is just now the time where Timbers games get crazy.
