The Master had a thing for inhabiting big, powerful bodies. They could have done a bit with it but I always figured his size would make it a bit weird. If you didn't catch it, Satrakian's sword belonged to Josef Sardu. You should get more back story on that later.

How can there POSSIBLY be these many vampires without the whole world knowing? That, in my view, is the biggest plot hole.

I am not sure, because I haven't gotten that far in the book, but I think Gus ends up with his own crew of vamp hunters
