@RealGM: The Alonzo Gee trade was never finalized/official between Cavs/Hornets.

And his contract is not guaranteed, so chances are he won't even put on a Pels uniform.

First impression is he looks like a slightly better Aminu. Rebounds well and can shoot at least above 30% from behind the arc. Seems kind of pricey at 3 mil though.

Not according to what I am looking at on ESPN profile...

ETA: are those normalized figures?

So how does it benefit us to help the Cavs by taking on a player we will then waive?

Do we get anything appreciable out of this.

The Cavs could have just waived them without trading him to us. We are probably giving something up like a 2nd round pick.

Basically an average split between the 2011-12 nd 2012-13 seasons(when he started for the good majority of said years)

If we are waiving him we would be getting a 2nd round pick.

It has to be connected to Asik.

I think Gee's non-guaranteed contract gives Demps the ability to complete the Asik trade without losing any good assets (namely Ryno and Rivers).

He averages 6 rebounds per 40 minutes. That is pretty good for the three spot.

Maybe we are sending back a guaranteed contract and then we can save some cap space by cutting Gee. But that doesn't make sense since the Cavs want save cap space. Three team trade?
