What a crap game. We are shite right now. Utter shite.

And frick me if Wenger doesn't go 4-2-3-1 AFTER taking Ozil out. The frick is he thinking these days?

I've said my piece about Per and Arteta. They are exposed against any combination of quality and pace. Kosc is to me one of the best CBs in the world because he has to cover for Per constantly.

I'd guess Dortmund covered about 10-15 KM more than us, which is basically an extra man, and that's what it looked like. We have glaring issues in the defense, which is letting our abundance of attacking options absolutely rot.

Battle for fourth, try and pick up a cheap trophy, early CL exit. Fun stuff.

We got worked yesterday. Made it look way too easy for Dortmund; like we didn't even belong on the same pitch with them.

It was embarrassing. Have to regroup and get 3 points on Saturday.

I think Dortmund is probably just better. I didn't see all of the game but what I did watch looked like arsenal was just chasing them

They were miles better yesterday. Bigger, faster and much more incisive in their play. When Reuss and Hummels get back they are going to be scary good.

Gundogan just started training as well, I believe. They're really good. They'll give a lot of people black eyes.

They are easily one of the better teams and playing there is a fricking nightmare. Great atmosphere.

No doubt about it. Dortmund are very good. They were without Hummels, Reus, Gundagon, Kagawa....they're a really fun team to watch.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been really hard to watch all year.

Wenger has regressed as a manager. This team is obviously lacking in depth but with the names we have in this squad we should be playing way above our current level. It's so frustrating.

More Ozil sadz

quote:

Ozil has never been the engine of any football team. He simply provides the luxury oil. To get the best from him, you need to have built the right machine around him. Yet the team that Arsene Wenger has constructed – especially away to the best teams – has quite simply broken down. Ozil will never be a player in the mould of a Roy Keane or a Patrick Vieira who can single-handedly take a difficult game by the scruff of the neck when their team is on the back foot. It is not what he does and never will be.
Yet place him in the right environment, in the right position, with the right players around him, and there are still few better No 10s in the world

out of their side that played yesterday only immobile, bender, one of their CBs for Per, and durm over bellerin would have made our XI yesterday, if we're going off of talent (whatever that means i suppose). yet 10 of their players looked better than our counterparts (kos was unreal to keep it even 2-0, i thought). klopp said he knew exactly what we'd do tactically from the City match and knew we wouldn't change it. that's just depressing to read. they played a diamond, were pressing high and we couldn't adjust enough to use the speed of sanchez or welbeck to create a counter attacking situation even once. i mean, frick, if we're going to be that open defensively, we should at least create some fricking chances.

the trouble we have creating simple chances with our attacking talent is embarrassing and arsene's stubbornness sticking with the 433/414 this season is leading me to be about as angry with him as i've ever been.

We could definitely find a place for Aubemeyang, but I get your point.

Bingo. I almost blew a fricking gasket when he took Ozil off and put Cazorla in the center and went 4-2-3-1. Why not earlier?

That said, at least he made the change. Hopefully it carries forward. We actually started keeping the ball at that point (though Dortmund relaxing was key).

Maybe the thing that was most frustrating was Ramsey, or lack there of because it seemed like he didn't exist out there and the effort, everytime we gained possession there were yellow jerseys everywhere. They out played us but definitely out hustled is as well. Everyone looked so lethargic.

I don't think everyone looked lethargic. Alexis put in a shift. Gibbs and Bellerin were very active and energetic. Jack worked hard. Welbeck was working hard.

It was more about the system. Dortmund played a high pressing 4-2-3-1 that almost looked like a diamond at times when Aubemeyang pushed up. There was no space for our players when they won the ball, and when there was Dortmund excellently funneled it into a place they could trap and win it back, to use a basketball analogy.

I can't count how many times Ozil got the ball on the right, got his head up, saw nothing but yellow shirts flying at him, and lost the ball. That's not bad form...nobody could succeed in that position. It's bad management. We lost the tactical war by a mile, and Dortmund are just as talented as we are, if not more so.

That's obviously a joke image. (Arteta is invisible, lulz).

He was great a Cesc replacement. Asking him to be a stopper at this point is a huge fail. Not singing a CDM is a huge failure and we won't finish top 4. Tottenham and ManU are on our asses.

Arteta has been great for us, but asking him to play this roll is insane.

We will struggle with the injuries, but Arsene has to change it up for us to keep top 4. I admire the guy, but he just won't change his ways anymore. I've always been afraid to see this side without him, but there are good coaches out there we could lure with what Wenger makes.
