Just wanted to pop in to say I hate that I'm having to cheer someone from Arsenal (Zelalem), but damn I hope he chooses the US and turns out as good as he can be.

I looks more and more likely that Zelalem will play for the US. It would take him years to break into the German setup and Ethiopia is a football dead-zone.

i think you're underestimating the ad angle. if they can get BS poll numbers to say they have X million supporters in Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. they can get new ad partners in that area. the secondary ad market is something ManU have really exploited in recent years. we clearly covet that same type of situation.

I know this game doesn't matter, but is there a reason we didn't start a forward?

Seems like they could've started Yaya or Walcott up top. Not sure of their fitness, though.

Agreed. I'd like to see how the third kits look in action.

I actually like the color scheme (even the red numbers), but that collar is just weird. Way too big.

can't think of a more meaningless match we've played in the past few years than today. hardly anyone of note played in their position. impossible to really draw anything from that one other than diaby played another 45 without getting hurt.

I honestly would have been kinda upset if I had paid to go to NYC and seen that. the gamble you make in the preseason, I suppose.

Yeah I'm super happy I didn't go. Literally a trash match. Monreal at CB the whole game? No striker for the first half? It's clear that Wenger didn't give a single shite.

Haven't read the thread since before work. Friend texted me how embarrassing it is to lose to an MLS team, so I know we lost. For me it is hard to watch soccer after knowing. I may watch LSU football games 3-4 times. But it is soo diff. I can fast forward through the bull shite. And the game is shorter. You can't fast forward through a soccer match and not miss something. Goals come out of nowhere on occasion.

But I'm watching the game now and I loved the bit on henry. I laughed when he caressed that lil blonde hair kid's head. I wanted to be that kid. But really, I just want to watch these young guys.

The set up is maddening. People who see the score line won't even know..... I'm laughing seeing roscicky at striker and moneral at cb. But I will fight the sleep and if I don't finish I will watch the rest in the AM.

Oh and these away jerseys are growing on me.

Of our typical EPL game matchday 18 we probably had six guaranteed guys on this squad: Ramsey, Wilshere, Szczesny, Gibbs, Cazorla, Arteta,

Flamini, Monreal, Jenkinson(if he's even still on the team), Diaby, and Rosicky will all rotate into the matchday squad based on competition and matchups.

We had seven for sure starters Mertesacker, Koscielny, Debuchy, Walcott, Sanchez, Ozil, Giroud missing.

Couple that with the fact that our formation was absurdly lopsided bc all our missing players play the same 3/4 position, and this team had never remotely played together before, and the performance becomes very understandable. Disappointing, but understandable

ospina is official. with chambers soon to be, I guess the question is whether we sign just a DM, or if there will be a CB or striker in play.
