It has saved mine. Three years ago when I was 16 and my girlfriend broke up with me I was in a state of depression and my life was spiraling out of control. I quit my job at Lids because I couldn't concentrate and I lost interest in all of my school work. But one day I was sitting in a Wendy's parking lot at 2 AM crying and thinking of my ex when someone drove by playing a drake song, I googled some of the lyrics to find the song and gave it a listen. Thankfully, around this time is when "Take Care" came out and that album which is one of the best rap albums of all time (also won a Grammy). This album changed my life and gave me the motivation I needed to get my life back on track. That album made me the man that I am today and without it I don't know where I would be.

I was drinking expensive champagne and Highland Park 30 year old whiskey when "Night Train" by GnR came on the radio. I thought "frick, I could get a buzz and save thousands of dollars." I cried tears of joy for weeks while rolling in the money I saved.

Music absolutely changed my life. Music has always been a big part of my life. I played in band from middle school through college. It introduced me to my first love. She broke my heart on a band trip my senior year of high school. Most of my best friends from college I met because of band. However, this is a different story:

Early Sophomore year of college, I was kind of a loser. I had never gotten over that heartbreak in high school and couldn't seem to buy a date. I didn't have a lot of friends nearby. My classes were very demanding so I had little free time, and no money. I had been working on my game and had gotten a few phone numbers, but nothing had really come of it.

During my spare time, I decided to join a funk/reggie/rap group out of BR. I started gigging with them thinking it would be a good way to make a little money on the side, force me to practice my trumpet during the off season, and maybe meet some girls.

After a few months, we got a gig at the Varsity playing an all local show with a bunch of other random bands. After our set was when I met my current SO. She started talking to me, I introduced myself, and we instantly hit it off. We ended up talking until 3 in the morning in the parking lot by the CVS and BWW. I managed to get her number and a date with her for the following weekend (show was on a Thursday night).

The date was going ok, but I felt like I was losing her. We grabbed food at Atcha, walked to an LSU baseball game, and were talking back at my apartment. To try and salvage things, I took out my guitar and played a few songs for her, mostly from "Flight of the Conchords" since I knew she was a fan. She told me over a year later that that is what salvaged the date in her opinion and convinced her to allow me to open the door, get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur.

It's a good trade, gives the pelicans a lot of flexibility in the front court. You guys shouldn't have traded Noel though, if his first summer league game is any indication he's going to be a beast

Edit: oh you most likely asked because it says I'm a pelicans fan, I just like the logo I was born and reside in the miami-dade metropolitan area
