Not with ESPN.
I understand your point, but it's hard to get top dollar from advertisers when your product is not available on some of the top television providers in the country.

OMG I just got off the phone with Directv and I'm totally confused now.
the guy tells me that Direct tv does not have to enter into an agreement with SEC network in order to show the games. He says those games that would be shown on direct tv will be shown on a local channel. He says because its a state owned college the state will provide coverage.
now I don't believe him for a second, actually he sounded like he was ten.
Anyone else run into this
sorry if doesn't make sense but that's what the guy said to me

Very true. I think DTV sees people leaving and that just gives ESPN more backbone. Espn can "cave" in the 11th hour to get the ad impressions up.
It will be on DTV this year no doubt

I haven't paid for NFL ticket in 3 years, you just gotta keep calling till a non foreigner answers and be nice and tell them exactly what your looking for

When the Directv auto bot answers the phone say cancel service and you will go straight to an American retention phone rep. I say cancel service every time I call to make a change on my plan so I can talk to someone in American that can get shite done.
If you want the HD Xtra Pack channels free. Go to your account online. Click change programing and add Xtra Pack free for 3 months. Set a reminder in your phone to call and cancel towards the end of the free 3 months. After it shows canceled on you online account reactivate another 3 months free. I's been working for me for a couple of years.

I just got off the phone with DirectTV and made out pretty well. The key is to talk to somebody in retention.
I'm less than a year in on my contract but I'm moving so I called to move my service and they tried to charge me $200. I'm literally moving 2 doors down.
30 mins and 3 reps later I got my bill cut down $15 a month, free Sunday ticket (which they seem to give everybody) and the moving costs from $200 to $20.
I just told them if it was going to cost me $200 to move my service I may as well just cancel for a little bit more and switch to Cox. I did use the fact that they were taking channels away like the SEC network.

called today and said i felt i wasn't getting the most bang for my buck. Have a $400 etf but said other companies visa gift cards would offset that. Complained about the lack of watch espn and sec network, and was offered nfl sunday ticket max for half off. I said why is my offer half off when I know they give it away for free. Girl spoke to manager and said the could give me regular NFL sunday but no max, I then said I really only want it for redzone channel and she agreed to add just redzone but not the other max perks (online/mobile streaming). On hold for a bit and she says she cant add just redzone so they will just give me the max.
This was the hardest negotiating ive had to do and its probably since im already receiving the $20 discount per month but i got what I wanted

you got to do what you got to do. Keep twisting their arm and they will yield.

With the annual contracts and constant issues over what content they'll have, I just don't understand why anyone uses them. Sure, they'll save you a buck, but they seem like such a PITA to deal with.
