Here is another. Name this famous bridge in a national park - in fact, another picture of the same area was posted way back in this thread. What is it known for?

We've got a bunch of covered bridges in north Alabama but that's not one I've ever seen. I have no idea where that one is or what's significant about it.

OK, here is a historical photo from that era/place (hint). What makes it significant?

I should have got that.

I'm actually named for a relative who fought at Gettysburg. He's probably rolling in his grave.

That's got to be a picture of Lincoln giving the Gettysburg address.

What is this? (I have found quite a few of these while metal detecting on family's land...)

Burnside carbine cartridge.

You found this in Georgia? That's pretty interesting. Burnside carbines were not in general distribution and carried by only a relatively few cavalry units. Mostly in the Western (i.e. secondary theater) - famously by Grierson's Raiders (remember the John Wayne movie - The Horse Soldiers).

Yeah, have found quite a few of them. Of course, most have been ony the bullets with some of the casing attached. I think we have three or four complete Burnsides. They were dropped by Sherman's Troops...

I was about to say a British Mk V but the rear end is all wrong. That's actually an early American concept tank. I can't remember it's name but it was powered by recycled train steam engines.

Very early horseless carriage, pre-1900 would be my guess.
