re: What is the deal with Sal and Judy's in LacombePosted by Tiger159 on 7/7/14 at 8:23 pm to WildcatMike
Take at least four people and get the family style. You get to taste a lot of the menu but in huge portions. Need at least four people.
As a couple people already mentioned, no restaurant could go on for decades, packing people in EVERY night, if they weren't doing something right. Especially in as remote a place as Lacombe.
S&J's is 100% legit!
While you're in Lacombe, head a few more miles down 190 and hit up La Provence too!

Never been to the store, but I use their Pasta Sauce from the grocery store. Lowest net carb count of any sauce on the shelf at Rouses.
Haven't tried any of the salad dressings though.

I guess you did not read thread on my trip to La Provence?
And I would say La Provence is up there to my trips to French Laundry or NOLA's…one of my best meals I have had in some time.

If your point of reference is French Laundry, you're going to be disappointed with S&J's.
You've been warned.

I may certainly be in the minority, but not alone.

Also true.

I'm not saying the place is terrible but it doesn't belong in the same sentence as La Provence, Mariza, or Domenica.

Not a selling point. Crooks... at least, in my book. But I'm jaded... had a bad experience a few years ago w/ a party dinner.
