I'm gonna use my AmEx Rewards points for my Uber fares.

I did a 7.63 mile trip in Houston at 2:15 this morning for $12.71.

Was this yesterday?
If it was, you likely had to pay surge pricing.

7.5 mile trip was $60
Uber is an amazing service and is only a dollar or two more than a taxi (unless you take black car which is a $25 minimum)

I did take a cab after the bars Thursday night because surge pricing was out of control.

I am about 7 miles from downtown Denver and my typical ride there or back is always right at $12

I hope not
Are you serious? I took on Thursday night and it was great. Made the poor guy wait as we picked up food. It was a 35 minute ride and it was only $25.
Hell, I just took one to the airport and it was only $34, usually cabs are around $65-$70. It's way cheaper

It says online its 1.50 starting fare with 1.90/mile and .30/minute.
I don't see how this could get up to 60 bucks
During busy times when few drivers über tells you it is anywhere from x1.25 - x2.5.
I can believe it if he took an uber in traffic with a x2.5 charge
re: Don't get too excited about UberPosted by BACONisMEATcandy on 7/5/14 at 2:23 pm to TH03
ÜberX is 51% cheaper than a cab here in DC

i think this guy works for yellow cab and is trying to drum up buisness for the cab company.

Completely anecdotal and vague with nothing backing it up and failing to mention why über charged him so much or what he did or how he set the ride up.
Please.
