That was the purpose of this thread. I wanted to see if anyone knew more than what I was seeing on TV. There is usually more to it.

But the way he has been treated is inexcusable.

I agree.

I have been following this very closely and there are some things that don't quite add up. I just hope he's being totally honest. I do find it quite strange that BO hasn't addressed the issue.

Anyway, it's going to be interesting to see what comes out on the 9th.

If they don't, I believe BO has been very negligent
really?

You think the President should keep up with every American arrested in Mexico?

Agreed.

The fact that the road is lined with concrete barriers meant that he couldn't turn around.

And he is being tortured. I'm all for do the crime, serve the time (I'm a republican ) but this shite is inexcusable.

you think we just send such people on their way if they arrive with weapons?
guess it depends on whether our border patrols happen to be armed with stinger missiles to counter such helicopters, but yes generally, we let them go on their way.

That's not what I said. I am aware that it has been brought to his attention. He may know something that we don't know regarding the situation. I'll guarantee you he knows more than I do. However, with my limited info regarding the case, I find it strange that he hasn't publicly addressed the issue. He may or may not have done it privately. I'm not saying he's negligent. I'm speaking hypothetically because I don't have all the facts. It's an interesting case.

I just hope Tahmooressi's being honest.

Considering that the BP isn't able to patrol the border right now, I'm sure they're bringing in whatever they want.

And Mexico needs the money we spend with them way more than we need them to buy our stuff. They shot at our agents. Isn't that an act of war, or no?

This is true.

No doubt.

Regarding the case, what I'm concerned about is what actually happened at the time he actually crossed the border in his truck. There are two stories coming out. Tahmooressi contends that he explained the situation to the border agent up front. Mexican authorities are allegedly contending that he didn't say anything until he knew that he was going to be pulled over and searched. Problem is, in Mexico, one is essentially guilty until proven innocent.

If it is true that he has been tortured, that's inexcusable.

Anyway, we should know a lot more on Wednesday. It's my opinion that Mexican authorities are guilty until proven innocent because I don't believe them, not unless they have substantial evidence to the contrary.

I'm looking forward to Wednesday, tbh. Again, the torture is what has me pissed. And yes, I'm pissed. There is absolutely zero excuse for that to happen. Hearing him on the phone today really got to me, I guess. I love and respect out military. I was raised to. He served 2 tours overseas and has PTSD.

But, I do agree with the guy that said that when their helicopters crossed over shooting that Obama should have been on the phone.

Give us back all of the Americans in your jails and lets us deal with them, or we will frick your world up.
And you know me....I wouldn't have said it so nicely.

I hear ya and I totally agree. Also, the situation with the immigrants is negligent IMO.

agree it's pretty hard to accidentally drive into Mexico. I mean he couldn't like pull over on the side of the road while he was still in the US? Plus didn't he first have to drive through US border control before he met with Mexican border patrol? That's the way it works when you drive into Windsor from Detroit. You first have to stop and talk to US border before you enter Canada.

You have never been to Mexico obviously. The US border patrol could care less if you leave. They don't stop you.

a-hole! Mexicans, central and South Americans break our laws daily and aren't imprisoned. One marine for tens of thousands and you don't give a crap.

Something like this should happen to you or a family member. Then you may get an attitude adjustment.

My question. Is there an American marine being held in Mexico?
