I've enjoyed all my meals at Luke. In particular, the soft shell crab BLT and the shrimp and grits with poached egg for brunch. I didn't find either to be a real heavy meal, but I didn't eat a bunch of sides. I haven't had any service issues either and have been seated in the front and the back.

The new Pizza Domenica will be open. It doesn't have as extensive a menu as Domenica, but reports are great, so far.

those applewood smoked scallops sound amazing.

With the red bean hummus type of stuff? Jones got that there.

Boucherie is very good too. Not as "bar" feeling, but very good food.

A tad out of the way though.

eta: I have a photo of the scallops somewhere. One second..

They look burnt in the photo, which is a shame because they weren't in person.

Pizza Domenica is on Magazine down more towards the park. It's fantastic. Pizza I find is even better than regular Domenica. Cool atmosphere and good beer selection too.

It's been a long week that's just ending, so maybe my brain is too tired to understand your point. He asked about Luke, but he also said his original plan was to go to Domenica.

Any other recommendations if Luke isn't the spot?

I went to Peche this last Saturday and it was freaking amazing. Kinda pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

Really? More like the best value in NOLA. tons of places in the city with more expensive entrees.

get the Choucroute Garnie Maison

or the

Flamenkuche

It's more fun if you get the stuff you ain't seeing anywhere else.

Yes the burger is good, but unless you plan on going there a lot, I would get something more German.

I went to Domenica today. Absolutely fantastic. The Wild Mushroom pizza is probably the best pizza I've ever had.
