Our 2nd unit has serious potential. A vet PG like Nelson wouldn't be a bad addition. He can dish and shoot the 3, basically a better, more polished version of Roberts.

Anything more than a couple mil then we pass. That money could be spent elsewhere

I had him on my team last yr. I thought he was injured more than he was. He only missed 13 games and averaged 29 mins a game. I def look at him.

He's paid his dues in the league, so you know Monty will love him.

I think he could be a quality veteran back up PG. I'm confused as to why people take issue with this. There is nobody behind Jrue and we need some more veterans on this team.
I have no issue with him in fact I would love to have him on our bench but I think he will be too expensive

I would not mind him as our back up PG. He could back up Jrue and play with Ryno in the second unit. (whom he has experience with)

Same here. I feel like if he's going to sign for the minimum, or near minimum, we're probably not at the top of his list. He could sign with the Heat for the miniumum, where he would get a starting role, and be a pretty good fit/upgrade.

They'll probably have to pass... Apparently Nelson is getting lots of attention

Jared Zwerling: Jameer Nelson has about 15 teams interested. Healthy, wants to win/play. Also a key player mentor. Guards market may dictate $5-7 mil range

He could probably replicate 75% of what Gordon gives us at about a fifth the price. Could be great value if he's looking more for a defined role, play time and a bit more money over a ring.

Yea, MLE on a good team is the better bet.

So far the actual market values have obliterated the guesstimated market values BSS used in their MLE tournament. McNamara is right about the money typically running out at the end though, that is when you get values...but it's also when Stiemsma is the best center available.

Anyone else feel like they were kicked in the junk reading this?

Definitely. I was pretty excited when we landed that guy (I refuse to even type his name). I thought he could handle being a defensive, rebounding Center, and complement Davis. In reality, all we got is a 7 foot pile of hot garbage that couldn't catch a rebound if it hit him in the face. The guy's only redeming quality was that he was 7'.

With the contracts being handed out, does it leave some hope that someone may not view Gordon's contract as bad?

We've discussed that a few times, and that is definitely a possibility. G contracts are getting REALLY inflated this offseason. I mean Avery Bradley just got 8 per.

Some of the teams that have cleared space but lose out on Melo/Lebron/Deng/ etc might be like...frick it.

Maybe, but I haven't really seen any legit rumors with Gordon, but then again you don't always see smoke before the fire.

If Gordon is going to be moved without a pick/major asset, I don't think you can ask for a more favorable environment than what we're seeing. Guards are getting ridiculous money and there will be multiple teams that strike out on their 1st, 2nd maybe even 3rd choices.

And you won't yet. Teams trading for Gordon won't want him, they'll be settling for him, that means most of the big names need to go off the board first.

yeah if Gordon goes it will be a last resort of a team that struck out on all the big names
