I like what we already have as well. It looks to be extremely well balanced. I love Kevin Love but I'm not one of those guys that feel you need to accumulate as many superstars on a team to win a championship... especially with a coach like Thibs.

I wouldn't blame them if the deal is in fact true though. They are still just magic beans with potential and you'd be getting a superstar in return.

I'm pretty torn and wouldn't want to be in Forman's shoes.

It would help if any of the picks y'all had could possibly turn into lottery picks. Barring injuries the Cavs, Heat, or Grizz aren't going to miss the playoffs most likely.

I'm still holding out then if I am the Twolves and hope you turn into this year's Portland if Wiggins isn't involved. Better deals are available than that.

I guess it doesn't really end. Would be nice to keep this stickied until the Bledsoe and Monroe situations are sorted out.

To be fair, I can't see this thread going far down the first page

Your move Minnesota.

Also, I've never seen a team wanting to tank so badly:

quote:

Sources told Sporting News that Philadelphia and Denver, again, are interested in participating in whatever deal happens for Love. Denver has interest in acquiring Love themselves, while the Sixers would like to facilitate a trade by including forward Thaddeus Young.

So you wouldn't mind giving up an 18 PPG player to help make a team in your conference better while probably just wanting expiring contracts and picks in return?

Griffin will give up Wiggins. I think it's becoming obvious that Minnesota is just trying to drive up Love's price to get more from Cleveland. Griffin is calling their bluff.

The season doesn't start for another 90 something days and they would still have half the season to evaluate trade possibilities. The Twolves don't have to rush anything right now.

The Cavs on the other hand most likely really want to get this done before training camp starts or another team makes a better offer.

Yes, trying to throw in Kevin Martin and JJ Berea is just asinine if the Wolves are trying to do that. Cavs should hang up the phone until the trade deadline.

Meh, if Love really demanded a trade before the start of the season the Wolves should be in a hurry too or else Love might "tweak" a hammy or something and sit out.

They can't just assume they will get an offer that is out of this world attractive. They may never be offered anything better than Wiggins, Bennett, and 2 first rounders (not sure if that was truly offered yet).

I don't think the Cavs have to rush anything. Sure, they are more likely to win a championship sooner if they get Love, but I think they aren't that far away with their current roster. And I think the team will be better off in the long run if they hold on to Wiggins. It's a win/win for them in my mind.

I love what Chicago has been doing as well. Thibs went out and traded for his guy in the draft, and hes been extremely impressive so far in the Summer League. Then went out and made some great signings with Gasol and Mirotic.

Great individual players, but also love how they fit into the system for the Bulls. Noah is the best passing big in the game, and Gasol has been 1 of the better passing bigs for years now. And both guys have a knack at getting to the open spot and being in the right place at the right time for the pass. Its gonna be fun watching those 2 guys pass the opponents to death in the paint and finish with an easy bucket.

And McBuckets is exactly what they need. A deadly shooter. And hes a solid rebounder and a much better defender and athlete than people gave him credit for in college.

And, maybe most importantly, all of this makes it so much easier for Derrick Rose. He has legit offensive help. Add in the fact that Butler will be improved next year as well. This Bulls team is going to make a legit run at the title.

quote:

There isn't a deal Cleveland could conceivably come up without Wiggins that would make any bit of sense for the Twolves.

This. I dont care how many draft picks I receive in a trade. The NBA draft is a crapshoot. And the picks most likely wont be top 5 picks. Wiggins is pretty much the only legit asset the TWolves could realistically get from the Cavs. With Waiters as the 2nd best player they could realistically get. But without Wiggins, getting Waiters, Bennett, and TT is a joke. TT is 23 years old and at his peak. He was like 38th out of all PFs in PER. And he might get a little better, but he wont turn into an above average PF. At best, hes an average NBA PF. And when you consider the TWolves have Dieng and Pek, they are actually solid down low.

Dont want Bennett. Period. Hes not as bad as his stats say last year and all that. But still dont want him. They have had that type of player in the past with Derrick Williams. And Shabazz looks to be an undersized tweener as well.

And good for Flip for playing the game and not accepting that bullshite deal. And you gotta take into account that Wiggins wasnt that impressive during summer league. He no doubt has the tools and athleticism and all that to become a star. But he showed his age, just 19. It looks like itll take him a few seasons to become that star player everyone thinks he can be, if he even gets to that level. The Cavs cant wait for that because LBJ cant wait for that. I seriously am having a hard time figuring out why this deal isnt done yet. The Cavs are wasting too much time. Which is allowing other teams to get into the race for Love.

Speaking of the TWolves.... How about Zach Lavine? Kid looks like hes gonna be a stud. Freak athlete that is also very much under control.

And you already have Pek and Dieng, who averaged 12.1ppg, 11.5rebs, 1.7blocks and 59% from the field when he played at least 20mpg. And averaged 14ppg, 13.3rebs, 1.8bpg, 56.5% from the field when he played at least 30mpg. And Rubio is still a solid NBA PG IMO. Hes like a Joakim Noah for PGs He doesnt score a lot, but he can pass, rebound, and steal really well for his position.

Kinda like the the Wolves have on the roster for the future, and if they can add Wiggins.... look out. Rubio(?, doesnt wanna rebuild), Lavine, Wiggins, Dieng, Pek.... good looking future.

The Wolves were genuinely close to being a solid team last year, they just closed out games at a historically and astonishingly poor rate

I wouldnt be surprised if they just leave a roster spot open to wait and see how his recovery goes.
