Clearly not everyone. I knew you could, but I actually thought it was 30.

Im not 100% on the laws but I would think they could do so with you speeding 10 over. Its just how big of a douche they wanna be. And secondly, I am never told to get straight out the vehicle and im under arrest for speeding. What happen to the where you going spill and the rest of the BS

Apparently the same one you did, but I actually listened to the words instead of just watching the video. You must be the guy to just look at the pics in magazines or books

All that bullshite for speeding. I know it was 25 over the speed limit but that is a crock. Sam gave no reason to be treated like he just fled the scene of a double homicide. Cop was barking out commands so fast I had a hard time keeping up with them. It was freaking speeding

I've been cuffed a few times and have two college degrees and didn't know what the hell he was saying. I probably would've stopped and asked what the F he wanted me to do.

Exactly. The guy could barely get words out of his mouth...it was like he pulled over a dragon.

The trooper was terrified from the moment he looked into the vehicle and saw the size (and we can speculate on the other aspects) of the driver he pulled over. The question then becomes...did Sam get that handcuffed treatment based on what he did (I'm assuming this trooper pulls over speeders doing 20 over from time to time...are they all cuffed and arrested immediately?) or was it solely because he was terrified because Sam was so much larger? As a big guy myself, I'm waiting to hear one of our residents LEO's step in and say that's the reason, so I can get more pissed.

As soon as Sam stepped out of the vehicle, it was clear he wasn't high/drunk and he was yes sir'ing him while wearing slacks and a freaking polo. The only threat he posed was potential for being so much larger. Would that allow most female officers to cuff most met any time they pull them over for simply being larger and potentially a threat regardless of their actions?

Kudos to Sam for handling that WAY better than I imagine I would have. And kudos to the department.

Just think- Sam could have avoided all this by not breaking the law.

You realize cops today can pretty much arrest you for anything?

Yeah you're right.

Cop: you military
Sam: nope. NFL
Cop: NFL?
Sam: yes sir.
Cop: you're under arrest. Step out the vehicle.

Pretty clear the cop decided to arrest him because he was an NFL player. If sam wouldn't have said he was NFL he probably would have gotten off with a just ticket.

quote: I too would have been fearful if a giant of a man stepped out of the car after going freaking 34 miles over the speed limit at 1:00 am. Then don't become a cop. Sometimes in every line of work people are going to be bigger and smaller than you - it's part of being a human.

Exactly! It's like the guy is saying it's okay to treat a man like a criminal because he is larger than the average person. If the cop is that fearful of someone larger than him then he needs to find a new line of work. Having a gun and taser on your side, you could neutralize any size threat real quick if you had too.

I'm glad he got suspended and I wish it would happen more these days. You should never have to deal with a shitty attitude from an officer unless you are being totally disrespectful.

I agree with most people here that the cop was a prick and had a chip on his shoulder. I hope he get reprimanded for his actions.

He knew he was big when he approached the car but when Sam stepped out, that dude shite his pants. Sam was overly nice and the guy had plenty of time to get over the shock. Those cuffs felt too right to take off, that's a large man and dark road.

He doesn't have to unless he is interrogating/questioning him while under arrest

Don't believe I have had a day go by where a BRPD wasn't going 25 over on their way home in LP. PO are the ambassadors to road safety.

I laughed my arse off when he was giving Sam the instructions. I was confused myself I can only imagine how he must have felt But yeah, POS cop. Once Sam was cuffed he didn't seem so angry at least. He was probably scared to death of Sam.. dude is massive.

Glad to see Montgomery being so classy though

Back in 2009, he was reprimanded for not ticketing former Gov. Mark Sanford's driver. Since then, she said, he's been known to ticket high-ranking officials and even other law enforcement.

This arrest had nothing to do with color. Sorry to spoil everyone's fun.

99% of cops are assholes because they have to be because people are stupid. That being said this cop lived up to the reputation to him
