so no real reports of an injury just guys "saying they heard it"?

I like CB site. they do a great job with Minor league coverage and breakdown of statistical trends IMO.

I think this is a VERY big deal and you can believe some assses are uncomfortable in their seats over on Crawford St.

Why?

Yeah, if someone is hurting at a particular position, they're not going to do business with the Astros because some dickhead was unhappy at his job and leaked the info?

are they trolling on Crawfishbxes saying Aiken might be hurt already?

Rampant speculation. Rosenthal wrote an article saying that Aiken went to Houston last week with reports that a deal was close but left with no deal done which would be consistent with a failed physical.

I think it's unfortunate the info was leaked out but this is not earth shattering news. The big thing this brings out is the media trying to play it up, make it a big story. I don't want this to be a distraction to the players. You know all the media will be asking questions to Bo and the players on the team about this topic. In fact it has already begun.

Im on my phone and feel like copying but the Astros released a statement saying they've known about this for months and went to MLB with it, MLB went to the FBI who's investigating it. It also says some of the information is totally fabricated.

No Villar or Carter

Surprised corp isn't getting another start after a good game last night....wait, no I'm not. Bo hates giving a hot bat a second game.

The Houston Astros issued the following statement this afternoon:

"Last month, we were made aware that proprietary information held on Astros' servers and in Astros' applications had been illegally obtained. Upon learning of the security breach, we immediately notified MLB security who, in turn, notified the FBI. Since that time, we have been working closely with MLB security and the FBI to the determine the party, or parties, responsible. This information was illegally obtained and published, and we intend to prosecute those involved to the fullest extent.

"It is unfortunate and extremely disappointing that an outside source has illegally obtained confidential information. While it does appear that some of the content released was based on trade conversations, a portion of the material was embellished or completely fabricated."

I only care about that as it relates to existing player morale. There's been a dark cloud hanging around the team with just about everything...the tv deal, displeasure with the owner, a front office who devalues talent for statistics, outspoken anonymous players...and now this security breach.

Luhnow needs to be out visiting every single organization in the system and do some damage control. He can start right here in Houston.

With all that being said...I still believe in what he's doing and I really do think that what we're doing is miles ahead of the curve as far as the rest of the MLB. If it works, he's a fricking heralded trailblazer. A pioneer of the modern era of baseball.

He's in it now. It's all or nothing

If there's anybody Chris Carter should start against, its the Mariners. But leave it to Bo to have that sail over his head.

2014: 6 games, .348 average (8/23) 2 doubles, 1 triple 3HR 7RBI
2013: 18 games, .277 average (18/65) 4 doubles, 4 homers 11RBI

So as an Astro: 24 games .296 6 doubles 1 triple 7 homers 18RBI

Actually, I can see some GMs using this as an excuse to not deal with Luhnow. I'm sure many of these texts were sent for his eyes only and some may feel he broke a trust. Is there in unstated rule "first rule of MLB trade talks is that you NEVER talk about MLB trade talks."

Anyway, it's nothing earth shattering. This story will blow over in a few weeks.

I'm more concerned about Bradley Aucklins injury (eh, Ryno?).

So if Aiken failed his physician, the Astros could offer him about 3.5 million (40%). If he accepted that, the astros would have around 3 million to play with for the signing pool.

It's way too early to talk, but the Mac Marshall dream could still be alive

I'd rather Aiken just pass his physical though.

Would be
Happy and sad at the same time. How about we just let him come to LSU then the Stros can get him?
