I hope they can put something together. But realistically I'm doubtful. Everyone seems to be lining up other projects, though that doesn't mean it can't still happen.

They'd be doing the show a favor by letting it die now. Community has been dismal for a while and additional episodes aren't likely revive what it had initially.

That's simply not true...if you ever enjoyed the show I don't see how you can honestly believe that.

Was Season 5 as good as Season 2? No, but were any of them? Go back and watch Season 1. It doesn't really get good until the last few episodes. Does Season 3 ever get flack? Not so much and it had a couple of dud episodes as well. Season 4 was a dud thanks to useless plotlines, inconsistent characters, and dropping seemingly important storylines for no reason. However, even "the gas leak year" isn't without its moments. Season 5 is certainly an improvement on the 4th one and may have been even better than 1 and 3 at times.
If you don't find GI Jeff funny, then you don't have a soul.

I did enjoy the show but its just a silly version of itself now IMHO. The Dean may be the most over the top ridiculous character on tv.
One of my favorite shows for years but it doesn't have the same appeal for me today.

Season 5 was really good so I'm a little surprised about the "it needs to die" chatter.

He's been that way since midway through season 1.

Show fell apart after Troy left.

I agree that it wasn't nearly as good without him, but G.I. Jeff, cork board, and social networks, didn't require him to be awesome.

I agree with your overall sentiment, but I thought all seasons have been solid. Sure, there are "misses" in every season, but overall it's a show that I love and like BilJ said, even when it's an off episode, it's still better than most of the bullshite on TV.
I've been watching a LOT of reruns lately, and I think season one is very good, but the show obviously hits its stride near the end of one and into late three IMO. That's the show's best stretch I think. But like you said, even season four has its moments.
In fact, outside of the whole "Changnesia" angle, I thought season four was really good. Also, as awesome as the "multiple timelines" episode was, I didn't like that the dark timeline later became involved in the show, although IIRC, it all ended up being in Jeff's head anyway, so I was cool with it. But season four had Jeff fighting HUnger Games style to get the group into History of Ice Cream, the Halloween-ish episode where they're all in Pierce's mansion, Inspector Spacetime convention, the Thanksgiving/Shawshank episode, the group/school trying to recruit that kid with the rich parents (and Troy and Shirley take the P.E. teacher class), the Sadie Hawkins/Sophie B. Hawkins dance episode, the muppet episode (which I wasn't crazy about the first time, but it's grown on me), the Christmas one with Malcolm McDowell, the one where Troy and Abed do Freaky Friday so Troy can break up with Britta, the one where it shows all their lives were connected in the past, and the second "Intro to Finality" one.
That's a pretty solid list of episodes. And I think one reason I hated the Changnesia thing so much was because I just hate Ken Jeong so much...but at least they made it fit within the episodes as the season went on.

I hated Changnesia, but not because I hated Chang. I loved Chang in season 1, hated him in season 2, and kinda liked him as the dictator in season 3. Changnesia just seemed lazy and dumb. The Muppet Episode and "Heroes" episode are two of my favorites.
Was the "Switched At Birth" episode from Season 4 or 5? My SO hate-watches that show and was interested in seeing Community make fun of it.

That was one of my complaints as the show went on...people became caricatures of their characters. Instead of Pierce being a crazy old man who says racist shite, he became a straight up racist a-hole. Britta became a dumb girl who didn't know anything and fricked up everything when in the beginning she was more of a wise, older chick (she was 28 years old at the beginning of season one)..but how can you not like Britta's character and the humor it generated? But as weird as the characters were sometimes, I still loved the show, and the characters and their quirks still made me laugh...I just liked it better when they were just quirks and not character-defining things, I guess.
But Dean Pelton was over the top weird basically from the beginning though.

It got 3 fantastic seasons, one horrible season, and one mediocre season. It went longer than how long it was "supposed" to go. So I say enjoy the reruns on The CW and move on.

I agree with some of this. I think that the writing staff and Chevy didn't know what to do with Pierce's character. Chevy couldn't (and probably refused to) be the character they wanted Pierce to be so they had to find a new direction that Chevy could pull off, and we got what we got.
I agree with the "Britta-ing" of Britta's character after season 1. They did a total "Robin Scherbatsky" job on her where she went from being this kinda cool, sexy chick in her late 30s, to being an average looking, dufus buzzkill bitch in the later series.
Abed just kept getting better and better, though.

Abed meeting that cool chick (Rachel) in the coat-check room at the party in that season four episode was one of my favorite moments in the series, and I was glad they brought her back last season and they ended up together.

Strange how Annie became the sexy love interest and not Britta. Damn, I love me some Annie Edison.

Is it just me or did she not look as good in Season 5?

I think it was because she wasn't dressed in the same "girl next door"-ish clothes as she used to always wear, as well as basically no cleavage-y shirts whatsoever.

That would make sense. Her "schoolgirl-ish" wardrobe always made her seem hotter. Although, it seemed like something was going on with her skin, maybe a makeup/lighting issue.
