That's what I was reading over on AV Club.
AV Club is going really easy on this show.
They usually nitpick even really good shows to death.

Makes me wonder.

I will say I never watched a single episode of lost...not a one.

I just saw snippets here and there - I never got into it and I don't really care for Abrams.

Not me.

That's my trepidation with this - I've never liked a single thing that Lindelof has written - however, he's working with the source material author on The Leftovers and is more of the showrunner - so far, so good, but I just have the sneaking suspicion it will go flying off the rails at a certain point and I'll walk away.

I know. But still.

I don't feel like anything's been resolved.
If anything, it's worse now.
Mystery guy won't even give his name.

This show is going to twist in so many directions. It's like watch a bad train wreck....you can't look away.

Hmmm.. so far I have found it incredibly easy to look away...

I'm trying to give this show a chance, but I've had to watch each episode twice so far because I inevitably spend half of each one playing on my phone/getting up to go eat/staring off into space/etc

I have no idea why this board is so critical after the first two episodes. I think they have been excellent. Also, plenty of stuff has been explained.

I'm not sure if I'd say excellent but it definitely has my interest going, plus I have nothing else to watch on Sundays without my GoT.

That said, this show feels a lot like Lost. A lot of crazy mixed in with some miscommunication. Hopefully this season will be well thought out.

I'm just here to say I watched both episodes and I have no idea what the hell is going on.

This show still sucks... So far.

The characters are not very interesting and the director needs to knock off all his cute camera angles, it's annoying.

I'll give it another episode to hook me but I'm pessimistic about this show.

I don't think anyone does, but I suppose that is sort of the point of the show? :donno:

The Strain looks badass.

By the way, the chief is going crazy. I believe mystery man is his split personality somehow.

If it's a split personality, how did his daughter walk around him, take the beer, and ask who he was?

As has been pointed out earlier, the writers and producers have pretty much stated that there won't necessarily be clear cut answers or explanations to everyone's satisfaction.
