right but i would assume the pic you showed didnt go up until 2008, not 2003. the toonces pic, saban holding the crystal ball were probably up at some point during that span.

im guessing saban holding the crystal didnt stay long since he bolted soon after the NC.

Actually that first pic was up before 2005, when the old west upper was demo'd. The Saban pick probably took it's place in 2004. I'm guessing 2007 or 2008 was when the last pic went up...

Actually, I now remember a fourth pic...

...although that may have just been on the north end zone scoreboard.

The noise in the stadium will be bouncing off the top of them making the stadium deafening similar to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium/Florida Field. Loud Loud Loud!

we are louder than both when we play solid opponents. We think those stadiums are loud because both of those teams' fans get jacked to play LSU.

I'm really hoping Alleva will do something about the concourses, and soon.

those concourses aren't any worse than the majority of upper deck concourses at other college stadiums, even a lot of nfl stadiums. they're also 10000x better than the concourses on the lower level. i personally think they look fine

Well, here's Tennessee's concourses for comparison's sake...

...something like that.

those are all in their lower bowl. their upper deck concourses look every bit as bad, or worse, as LSU's. They also completed that in the past 2-3 years. I'm fairly confident renovating the lower concourses, the bathroom in particular, will be a future project at tiger stadium now that the expansions are probably done for the foreseeable future

I think it would be pretty much impossible to expand the upper deck concourses anyway. But they do need to do something about the ones in the bowl...

Holy shite that's nice. Only been in the upper once I think those are nice enough but the lower bowl is a shite hole in every aspect. I can't imagine how much money it would take to make it look like that.

And this is our lower bowl...

...clearly, some work needs to be done. The good news is...

LSU is studying a plan to carve out more restrooms from the old dorms, which will just further improve the fan experience.

quote:

On what could happen to the old dorms in Tiger Stadium:

"It’s full of asbestos, so it all would have to be abated. The plumbing is shot. The electrical is shot. The ceilings are really low. It’s a really low ceiling, so aesthetically it limits what you can do. One of the things that we have the architect looking at now, and goes back to the fan experience, we have them looking into the possibility of creating more restroom space out of that dorm space, renovated space for particularly women’s restrooms. Women are really particular about that. So it we could create more restroom space, that would be a real advantage for us.”

Joe Alleva talks end zone expansion, beer sales, SEC Network at BR Press Club

Stadiums now have to offer compelling reasons for fans to leave the comfort of their living rooms and pay to attend games. Especially with the SEC Network due to debut soon.

Tennessee has a 15 year plan for neyland. They built a brick wall around the stands inside the stadium, built the peyton manning pavilion or whatever in the endzone, and redid the concourses first. then they bricked the outer facade of one side and built a new front entrance next. they're about to brick another side of neyland and tear down the old ramp on the side facing the river.

Yes, I was up there the 01 game, they are definitely not as wide as ours; remember being like a sardine squished at halftime!

neyland looks far different than it did in 2001, haha. they have undergone a massive renovation in the past 3-4 years and still aren't done. they actually decreased the capacity for 1-2k for more premium seating

They shouldn't have stopped at just 1-2k. IMHO, Neyland's true capacity is more like 96,000. They only fit 102,455 in there through creative use of paint.
