Honestly, I think he has something close to that. He's going to get some carries, no question.

I don't see him being a 1000+ yard receiver, but he's going to get plenty of short to intermediate routes and they will get him in the ball in space.

700+ receiving
100+ rushing

Seems very possible to me. I'll say his stats will be very close to that.

I'm sure you're right. If I eat too much, I will get fat. If I goof off too much, I will get fired. Great proverb.

Where are the people flipping their shite because he won't be used in the backfield and may only see a couple of reverses during the season?!?!

And in all honesty. I don't think he gets 60 receptions if Colston and Graham stay healthy.

Cooks is talented, but he can't be blowing the top off of the defense and lining up in the backfield and catching 60 balls. He's a rookie and we have other good players. It's just not likely is all I'm saying.

And Coleman needs his reps if he's gonna replace Colston AND Graham.

Quietly, I agree. He won't see 15 carries in this season. I can't see that happening. He is not a Sproles replacement. Cadet will see Sproles' carries.

yeah that was my biggest question mark about those stats. Payton has said they want to emphasize the more traditional run game so its not so predictable every time ingram is in.

and between: pierre, ingram, cadet, and robinson, will cooks really be needed back there? he probably gets 8 carries.

I don't think its the number of carries thats going to matter, it'll be what he does with those limited carries.

Obviously, but folks were seeming to focus primarily on how much he'd rush the ball.

Reggie 2.0

The Reggie Hate was definitely strong here. I still don't view him as a bust, because he has been very productive in his last two destinations. He was not used enough in this offense.(which I stated numerous times during his tenure)

He still does get injured pretty often though.

He could match those numbers, but I doubt he does the same things as Harvin rushing and returning -- a big reason he won ROTY.

...i've seen on here a few times rookie WRs very rarely go over something ~800 yards (even the ones that turn out to be very good)...he just isn't gonna be a star year 1.

Issue is, if a rookie rusher gets 1k yards it doesn't matter anyway. Or if a QB has an above average season.

1k receiving yards isn't good enough to beat those.

He must have a keen eye for talent, needs to see it in action before he provides his assessment.

Does Brees live in San Diego during the offseason? I thought he was in New Orleans year round?

He spends part of the offseason in San Diego. Still has a house there.
