I mean you just have to use your judgment. Do into 50k of debt just to get an Art degree. I graduated with about 16k total debt with a Bus Mgmt degree two and a half years ago and already have it down to almost 4k. In the same span I've bought a car, a house, and gotten married. I mean yeah it'd be nice if I didn't had the debt, but I have an interest rate that's so low it doesn't pay for me to break my back to get rid of it.
As long as your desired career will produce an average-above average salary and your interest rates aren't outrageous, I would absolutely not worry about it and get your degree. These days you need at least a college degree just to get an interview, much less the job itself.

As everyone has already stated, make sure it is a valuable, relevant degree. Combined my wife and I have $248,000 in student loan debt. About $10k from my undergrad, my MBA, and her Med School. We will have it all paid off in nine years, but it's going to be a beast-sized monthly note in 2.5 years. Currently we pay interest only and slowly chip away at the principal. The route we took should save us around $165k in interest. I did not want that shite lingering around for 20-30yrs.

It won't be general business. Really my ultimate goal in life is to be a successful entrepenuer, and the degree that will teach me most about being successful in that is way ill go. I know there have been many great business men to strike it big without degrees because they have natural talent, but...I'm going for a degree for the reasons of
1. Business fails
2. If I never start a business at all
With either or, I have a degree to fall back on. But there's also a chance my granddad will pass down his business to me if I earn a degree.

What the hell happened to working while in college?
Waited tables and graduated from LSU Mech engineering in 5 years debt free.
