I forgot all about that place. Didn't they turn on sprinklers in the summer ?

Cathay Inn

Had to stop eating there after I found metal in my moo goo gai pan. When I pointed it out to the waitress, suddenly no one in the restaurant spoke English anymore.

Lester

if you grew up near Delta playground and played sports between 1975-1985 we probably know each other

I lived on Beron Dr and often walked to DP through the back entrance off Lynnette and Green Park Elementary

I was born in 1968 and was a kid in the 70's , teenager in the 80's. After graduating STM HS in 86 went to LSU for 3 semesters. Studied hydroponics and emulated Timothy Leary and Cheech & Chong which led to me checking into treatment for substance abuse at 19 yrs old. Moved to Laf in 1988 and have been clean and sober for 26 yrs.

my current addiction is food and cooking

CCC

perhaps during your era but the FB team I was on in 1980 skull-drug MM , and then went on to win the Parish Championship by 3 TD's at Behrman

we had several "Super fast" athletes who lived by Airline Bowling Alley and walked to practice everyday. Quick pitch L , quick pitch R and nobody could catch Mr Davis. He went on to be a dual sport letterman at Tennessee (T&F, FB) , ran in the Olympics, and also drafted by SEA. I'd say this brother was ELITE

getting back topic, I do miss Mano's poboys and hanging out to get Saint's players autographs

I went to St Martin's but all the neighborhood kids / friends went to GP , OLDP, then off to Rummel

Boo and my family were pretty close. After playing at Delta, we kept in touch as I followed his track / football career at EJ, then Tennessee . Ran into him selling cars on Veterans Hwy around 1996. Harlan was always polite , said "yes sir and no ma'am" to my parents and very respectful . All around great guy

True story - buddy of mine is now second assistant to the assistant grasskeeper at Miley (he had to work his way up); he tells me all the old-timers still refer to the mid to late 90s as the "Cold Cous Cous" era.

Don't think Dijon deserves it's own thread.

Dijon first opened in an old firehouse on lower Annunciation Street in early 2012. It received a one bean review that summer.

Never tried Dijon, but they will be best remembered for the scathing review by Brett Anderson.

It appears the NOLA dining scene has reach max capacity. There have been quite a few closing this summer.

I used to patronize a dry cleaner, where I had a similar experience.

It's sad that they took off the cool old original sign from Cathay Inn. It was the best thing about the place.

Which is why I never order moo goo gai pan from dry cleaners.
