It’s amazing that fans of teams just CAN’T have any objectivity. If you click on an article about the raptors, then toronto fans will freak out if there is anything critical said. Same with Knicks, Lakers, Heat etc. I didn’t think it would happen with freaking new orleans but This is another example. You Pelican fans are DEFENDING this brutally awful trade??? They traded TWO first round picks for freaking Jrue Holiday?!??!! HOW? WHY? I am just an ordinary guy but even I knew that was a completely moronic trade the second it happened smh. How on earth do NBA GM’s get hired if they are this dumb. They have the best young player in the league and a franchise cornerstone that is only 21 years old. So what do they do? Instead of be patient and build a young nucleus around him? They squander it all on tyreke evans, Eric Gordon, and possibly the worst trade ever. lolll

This guy makes McNamara look like Jack Kerouac.

I am fairly confident I would prefer Jrue on this team on his contract more than the combination of projected talent at the picks we gave up. Seriously without the injuries the pick this year would have been worse. The only player that I kind of wish we had was The Freak. Most would have considered that a huge reach at 6.
Plus we got Pierre Jackson who may have value.
shite the ROY was fricking MCW and he sucks.

Oladipo is the better player and should have won it, but its pretty much a stat and popularity contest.

I'll be the first to admit that I reacted similarly to this column after my first read-through, but I have backed off since then to merely disliking it. Dan Feldman knows his stuff, but he may not have put forth the tone that he meant to display.
He is right about the likelihood that the Pelicans will find it difficult to trade into the first round with the players currently on the roster. I disagree with him about the trade for Holiday, but there is certainly an argument to be made for Philly's side. Where I think he erred is his assessment of Jrue overall. Feldman's evaluation of Holiday makes it seem like he didn't watch him much, and ignores a lot of what makes Holiday so valuable (people seem to always forget how young he is... the dude only turned 24 a week ago). Just my two cents on the piece.

There is no defending him after he went click bait hyperbolic. It's one thing to think the Pelicans lost the trade, it's quite another to consider it the Worst Trade EVAR!

The worst deal in NBA history?
This is simple.
trading Kobe for Divac
trading Barkley to the Suns for Hornacek and two no name guys
Milwaulkee trading Dirk(9th pick) for the Tractor Traylor (6th pick) on draft night
Marbury - 4 years 76 million - got two coaches fired and a GM, then they told him to stay home for 2 years while they paid him 20million/yr
Arenas - 6 years 111 million - didn't play the first year, brought guns the second year, got traded then amnestied
Rashard Lewis - 6 years 118 million - at least he played throughout his contract, until he got traded for the dipshit above, but that's entirely too much money and for too long to pay a guy that only shoots 3's and has no defense even though he's 6'11"
Alan Houston - 6 years 100 million - got two good years out of him after signing up, then he was hurt all the time, then "retired" while still being the second highest paid player in the league for 2 years while retired.
Raef Lafrentz and Erik Dampier - both signed 7 year 70+million dollar deals. 7 years of gauranteed money for these chumps. Cuban was dumb.
plenty more dumb deals out there.
Unless philly drafts a hall of famer this year with our pick, this will never be a bad deal.

It's the offseason. Nothing is happening. They need clicks so why not write a hyperbolic piece.
Same time, it's not unreasonable to think the trade was a bad move. It's not just 6 and 10 v Holiday. It is 6 and 10 and cap space v Holiday with the looming shadow of the subsequent Evans move and keeping/being unable to unload Gordon.
It's also not unreasonable to think it was a good move. As it is, with health the Pelicans can win about 50 games next season with this roster. They will have the same or better talent than Portland, Memphis, and Dallas.
Will take years to decide a "winner" if we have to make that designation

Rashard Lewis to Magic. They still suffering from that joke/contract.
Or Carmelo Anthony to New York. Little ruined a decade of Knicks hoops.
