eta: so how does everyone feel about this inevitable Oliver/Felicity romance? im torn. i never really got that Oliver had those feelings for her until the fans caused a riot. Where does this leave the Laurel story? Granted i dont really like Laurel but she fit Oliver's personality more, imo.

I have a feeling that the Oliver/Felicity romance won't last very long (at least them being officially together). They'll go out on a date, she'll get hurt/almost killed because of it, Oliver will break it off, she'll start dating someone else (like Ray Palmer), he'll get a little jealous, the writers will play the will they/or will they not get back together, and it will fade away.

Eventually Oliver will hook back up with Laurel. They might even play up the Felicity jealousy over Oliver training/spending time with Laurel angle. But I think by the end of the series they will eventually end up having Oliver and Laurel together. It may take another couple of seasons, but that is what I think eventually happens just because it's such a big part of the whole DC universe.

eventually, yeah it will probably be laurel and oliver. but the promos so far basically have oliver and felicity making out. their relationship definitely gets more serious, but like you mentioned, who knows the length of it.

while this is happening, im wonder whats laurels reaction going to be? i guess she would just continue the "whatever" attitude since she got over oliver/sara pretty quickly. this whole thing seems really manufactured from fans' obsession with the idea.

i really hope someone gives roy a needle and some smack. i just do not like this guy.

As long as we keep getting top notch action and the romance remains secondary I couldn't care less who he ends up with. I will say though that there is precedence for Oliver winding up with the quirky blonde IT girl (Smallville).

Im hoping having Roy as Arsenal will make me like him more. His problem last season was he was all HULK SMASH for much of the season so we never really got to see him interact with the rest of Team Arrow. If the season 2.5 comic is any indication I think having Roy as Oliver's full time sidekick will improve his character a lot.

This. He is currently the weakest character, but only because it seemed some major plot points were thrown onto Roy rather quickly, and in succession. If things settle down and he's given something consistent, that may help his character.

I have concerns about the acting ability of the the actor playing Roy. I wasn't too fond of his acting back when he was in Teen Wolf, and his acting has been somewhat lacking on Arrow. It seems the only thing he can play is pissed off. Now granted that has basically all they've asked him to do from a storyline standpoint, but at some point he's going to have to play something other than pissed off.

I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to the actors on this show. With the direction and dialogue, even John Barrowman comes across as more wooden than usual. I basically look at it as a comic book with a great story but with average art.

The Felicity and Oliver romance isn't that big of a surprise. Emily Bett Rickards was only supposed to be in one episode, maybe two at the most, but she had such good chemistry with Stephen Amell they made her a recurring character and finally bumped her up to the main cast.

Matt Nable has reportedly been cast as Ra's Al Ghul.

Stephen Amell also announced it on his Facebook page.

I've never heard of him but he looks like the result of Charles Bronson and Jeremy Renner having a kid.

I'm pretty sure anyone that's ever been able to make this claim probably died off long ago.

Ok, that trailer has me psyched. I like some of the smirky one liners that Oliver seems to have started using (the show runners have stated that we will start to see Oliver's personality start to shift more towards his comic book personality). I don't know a whole lot about the guy they cast for Ra's, but they haven't missed yet on a big bad, so I'll give them the benefit of doubt that he'll work out nicely.

From this quote from the article that accompanied that trailer:
quote:

As executive producer Marc Guggenheim told The Hollywood Reporter in July, season three follows the theme of identity. "It's the first season where this theme of identity is not only about Oliver but is also about all the other characters," he said.

I'm excited at the direction they are taking the show. I think we will see some major character development from the other characters this season.
