Stupid idiots paying thousands for their 8 year Olds to play travel ball. Then giving up all their weekends to be a shirty baseball fields amongst other idiot parents. They are the worst parents on my opinion
Not too sure about the "worst parents" aspect, but the first part of that comment is completely true.

These parents who shell out thousands for custom uniforms, bags, t-shirts, etc., are morons of the highest order. It is all a waste, but according to them, Little Jimmy over there is gonna be the Tiger's next starting SS, even though he has made more errors than catches this year.

Scruffy played one season of travel ball and then told them to shove it. Dads living through their kids. Parents cursing out umpires, coaches, and other teams. Thankfully Papa Scruffy hated it as well and kept Scruffy grounded in reality.

It is all a farce and it is very embarrassing watching your little brother's coach get thrown out of a game because he didn't like the umpire's call.

Take Scruffy's advice. If your kid says that he doesn't want to play travel ball anymore, shut it down at the end of the season. Let them enjoy their youth. Pick up another hobby with them, like fishing.

And to all of the parents out there that take baseball too seriously, your kids are watching and you are an embarrassment to them.

Just thought you should know.

Two of these kids have parents that I am friends with outside of the team (at school and in the neighborhood). Any advice on how to handle this? Have any OT coaches been through this? Any chance we stay friends or will I be dead to them?

So how did this turn out?
