did you ever catch any dead shows in person? i've been able to turn friends onto other bands in my living room, but the dead is admittedly a tougher sell, almost futile for some....at room volume, they definitely come off as lighter fare compared to others, so i guess sometimes it's hard to tell how powerful they really were unless you actually saw/heard it at 120 decibels. i was lukewarm about 'em until they crushed my ribs in person (particularily with phil's bass bombs) & i was onboard ever since

no I never saw them live, too young. Seen plenty of different mixes of P&F is the closest I could say get to (or furthur I guess)

that sux

in response to your below question - cause furthur (which is how I spelled it the first time) and P&F and furthur played at festivals I was in attendance at where primarily Mule was rocking the house down - that is in response for furthur as I have only seen them at lockn and probably wouldn't make an extreme effort to see them again - unless Trey decided to sit in again.

Also P&F has some great friends a lot of the time which is fun to see. And dead songs are great, Dead Feat was awesome and I am always excited to see someone cover them - i just never get into it enough to listen to them at my desk.

But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy it live - i've rocked out to lolpanic before so I'm not gonna avoid them just cause I don't GD at the desk ever.

I even listened to a good number of those P&F shows posted in the other thread and enjoyed them a lot.

Is it possible I subconsciously think that JerrySux? I don't think that is the case cause I have definitely rocked to some JGB in the past.

Why did you see P&F and Furthur if you can't get into it?

But hes never "rocked" in the dead?

Thats some dumb custy shite right there, gd rocks WAY hard than jgb. Jgb is like an r &b band, the dead is a rock band.

Rocking was just the term I used to describe my mega enjoyment. I'm sure he has rocked with the dead before I just haven't been able to find the show that blows my mind yet.

I mean I've listened to some awesome shows but I seem to enjoy some of the other peeps playing more. I guess I just don't get it.

not at all, I have said they were pretty good at hangout last year - but that is just in terms of pretty good for moe, not in the general scope of music.

besides it being a great show, sandstone is one of the best-sounding GD boards IMO, sonically speaking. the snare drum sound has more "snap" in it, as opposed to the "thud" of some other SBD recordings....makes the up-tempo songs really come alive (again, IMO). nice first show to have attended

Kind of off topic, but I have really been enjoying the Joe Russo's Almost Dead stuff they have been playing on Jam On. I think they have only played a handful of shows, hoping they put a tour together sooner than later.

Jam Base Link

I was thinking the same thing while driving today. I actually looked up their tour dates to only find two NE dates and no Southern dates.

Also - Jam On played Widespread Panic's Action Man > Chilly Water > Pleas > Chilly Water from Live in the Classic City today, all 30 minutes. I thought I was going to wreck my Jeep I was jammin so hard.
