Martin is too slow IMO. He will play, but against the big-time programs, we need to quickly develop some of our very talented youngsters...

Every DC plays with 4-5 DBs at almost all times.

it's where they position themselves pre-snap and where they go on-snap that's different in a Chavis defense as compared to "normal".

Ronald Martin a senior safety seems to be the Heir to the starting FS position.

No way, he's absolutely more a SS type ala Loston. Honestly if Mills really is out for a period of time, get Rickey Jefferson in there. He showed some serious flashes in coverage last season.

I'd be willing to bet a good majority of them play at least 4

1) Mills won't be suspended.

2) Martin sucks.

3) Mills and Jefferson to start. Adams will be starting at one spot or the other by the end of the year.

i wouldnt say Martin sucks. he is just not consistant.. We'll be fine. Think we get some DB help and safety help to play right away in 2015.

i also think Mills' suspension wont hold up and he'll be back soon enough.
Add J. Adams and Rickey Jeff and we'll be ok until we get that other 5star safety next year

Once again... Ronald Martin SWITCHED BACK TO SS, his natural position.

And I doubt that you are aware of what Martin went through last season.

If he is guilty he is off the team. Battery isn't a misdemeanor

Bring on Jefferson. At least he won't throw a fit and blame everyone else when he gets beat.

Someone will step up

Im just worried about running thin on defense. In the days of our awesome D we were 2-3 deep at all positions with playmakers (not depth chart fillers)... And our backups would come in and make big time plays. If we had an offense even remotely close to this past year in those seasons.. i think we have 2-3 more championships

It's not about that.. Of course that would be the case if it were true.. It's about him not being the one to do what he was accused of.. with such a shady story and witnesses on his side it's doubtful the DA even prosecutes this.. once this is cleared he will be reinstated.

Any ways getting back to safety discussion, LSU is fine as someone said Martin going back to SS with Mills.. then Jefferson and Corey Thompson.. then the incredibly talented freshman in Jamal Adams, John Battle and Devin Voorhies..
