I actually hate it more for the player though. He was out most of last season and was in a contract year. He's pretty much gone.

We'll always have the gif though.

WOAH! Let's slow down a bit here. He's decent but not even close to "great".

+1 . He's not even on the level of Levonte David. David and Luke Kuechly are the only "great" LB's in the NFC South currently and for the foreseeable future, IMO.

You don't celebrate injuries to other teams. That's trashy.

No but you can be happy that one of your opponents is weakened. I'll take the easiest path to the Super Bowl for $1000 Alex!

Lets not forget that he plays for the Falcons. If he was somewhere else with a decent defensive coordinator he would be great I believe.

I think you're putting too much stock in to coaching

He's a LB who was drafted with the thought that he'd pressure the QB. He hasn't done that. I'm not saying he's bad by any means. He's a solid player and I'd take him on the Saints. But I wouldn't expect highlight reel plays or double digit sacks.

He was great in 2011, but certainly fell off since then.

Still there best front 7 player IMO when healthy

I'd probably agree

He was great in 2011

No, he wasn't.

Maybe I have a different definition of "great" from everyone else. I don't know.

Also, he has been consistently injured. I think the last time he played a full 16 games was 2010. Injuries have ruined his career.

Outside of those injuries, he would be an "well above average" LBer. Guess it depends on the definition of "great".

I agree with this. Honestly I was hoping the Saints would draft him when he came out of Mizzou but ATL picked him ahead of us

Here are his PFF scores:

2011: 19.9
2012: -4.6
2013: - 9.1

He had 63 stops in 2011 (2nd most), 4 sacks, and 10 hurries.

He graded out at #4 for his position in 2011. I think that classifies as great

I don't think anyone on here celebrated. Well at least not publicly. I know what some of you shitheads are thinking though!

I'm not going to argue the point. I know what I've seen with my own two eyes, and nothing he's done had ever made me say "Wow! He's great!"

We'll just disagree, and that's fine

Ian Rapoport just said on NFL total access that the falcons are very interesting in signing Vilma to replace Weatherspoon... Here comes the loyalty test..

Loyalty means he plays for them. Love the guy, but he is completely washed up.

From a money standpoint, he would be better served staying a celebrity in Nola than playing for the Falcons
