You don't add no damn .25. Hill ran 4.66 at combine then ran 4.52 at pro day. At most the numbers change .15. Landry went from 4.77 to 4.58, but he also pulled something at the combine prior to the run.

Using your method, guys like Bo Jackson's 4.12 would be 4.37. Joey Galloway's 4.18 would be 4.43 and Deion Sander's 4.21 would be 4.45.

I can run a hand timed 4.4 40

Not taking away from derrius, he's obviously fast. Just hand times are a joke.

The 0.25(it is actually 0.24) is a number that comes from the track and field side and it is what they use to convert hand times to FAT times. The difference is with FAT the clock starts when the gun goes off, NOT on the runner's first movement, as is done with forty times and the NFL combine. The NFL combine times start on the runner's first movement and the finish is laser times. The difference bewteen hand and official times at the NFL combine tends to be about 0.1 second.

So if DG ran a 4.35 fully hand time at LSU, I would expect him to run around 4.45 to 4.47 at the combine.

And for the record, I believe his straight line speed is not exaggerated. He ran a 10.92 FAT 100m, and a 7.1 60m FAT indoors. While those times won't get him into the Olympics, they translate to a guy who is capable of a 4.4 40, especially since guys his weight are usually decelerating towards the end of the 100m sprint.

Bingo

Wonder why LSU doesn't just buy a laser and have a grad assistant operate it at camps.

Dude... Decimal placement.

10 + 25.0 = 35.0seconds.

10 + 2.5 = 12.5 seconds.

You add 0.25 to the time, not 25 or 2.5. That would make a 4.50 into 29.50 and 7.0

2.5 to his 4.35 would be 6.55.

After I said .25....

do you know anything about track and field. its 2.5 not 25

Other posters said this as well...
quote:

Gonna hurt yourself Mud. It's .25 , thats point 25

Hear anything from .23 to.25 for an adjustment

Again, its 0.25 and you keep saying 2.5.

How do you know that they don't have one and keep the real times on the DL? Rumor has it that they keep it in Les' hat.

and now ya know. You're officially an insider!
