Like I said it could end up being a Zach Lee situation but I think that was kind of a unique situation if I remember correctly. Supposedly the Dodgers were the only team that could have paid him that kind of contract or something along those lines. So if another team would have drafted him and not offered what the Dodgers did he probably ends up at LSU.

Yeah Dodgers gave Lee 4th overall money that year (5.25 mill signing bonus) but drafted him 28th overall and were MLB owned/bankrupt hahaha He was slotted to only get between 1 and 2 mill at 28th, but LA stepped up and met Lee's pre-stated amount. I could not blame any of those kids for taking the money and going if it is that much, but I could see Mac being like Nola if he does make it to campus. A few years with AD and he may be a top 10 guy with his stuff.

ETA: And yes, I will be nervous about this entire class till the signing deadline.

Yes, we all know this way too well haha I'll be sweating bullets. But its obvious (to me) if he is offered anything less than a mill, he should come here. He would more than likely end up like Nola/Gausman and go top 10 with AD grooming him and his stuff.

They moved it to the middle of July a couple of years ago. It used to be the first day of classes at whatever school you were attending.

Yeah I remember it being in August back with the Zach Lee situation. But Mac Marshall will be on AFR at 330. I'll post cliffs of what he says.

Thanks

Someone just posted this on the rant:

@WGNOsports Brother Martin's Greg Deichmann is headed to LSU. Diechmann told MLB scouts he will not sign. Dad says "his heart is at LSU." #wgnosports

Would be amazing.

I'm hearing Marshall is planning on doing what Diechmann did and writing letters to MLB front offices saying "please dont draft me, I'm going to LSU." Would be amazing if true.

Just said Byrd and Diechmann both sent letters to MLB offices saying they were going to LSU. Marshall is slated to room with both of them and said unless he gets drafted Thursday, he is leaving for BR on Friday. Fingers crossed!

ETA: Marshall stated unless he goes 1st round Thursday, he is coming to LSU Friday to move-in.

Not too many lefties throwing 94-95 make it on campus. I don't care what he says now.
