And to add:

The Cubs are officially at least 1 game better than last season. Suck it, Rick Morrisey.

Had frency listed as outfielder/pitcher for the san diego padres. For some reason i chuckle a bit every time i see him listed as a pitcher.

Best arm I have ever seen.

Highest career slugging percentage. Minimum of 50 at-bats.

new low a affiliate in South Bend. I can dig that, still on the south shoreline.

also, and much more important.

It may actually be happening.

They basically said today "frick it, we're doing this no matter what". I dig it.

Ha...yep.

Now is the time though. The rooftops didn't bring the cubs in on that last lawsuit because they wanted it in front of a judge/jury not an arbitrator. So cubs say, either sue us or frick off. Like you, I dig it.

Hopefully the bird migration people show back up, because that was easily my favorite argument against the video board...that the lights of the video board would affect the migration of some rat with wings.

I know they said they want Javy to just be Javy, but damn, someone needs to help this kid out. Dude is swinging at balls bounced 10 feet before the plate

These guys really need to quit winning... we're up to 8th in the draft next season when including Houston's two picks, with the Southsiders only 1.5 games behind.

They were pretty open about the fact that he'd come up, do his thing, struggle most likely, and then work with him in the off season. Nothing has changed. He's struggled with every promotion. Theo's quote was money about it (From Patrick Mooney's piece on javy)

quote:

“As tough as it can be to watch sometimes, this is exactly what Javy needs,” Theo Epstein said. “He’s going to end up going into the offseason reflecting back on this. Over time, it will sink in that despite what pitchers do to him, he controls the at-bat.

quote:

“That is Javy’s pattern,” Epstein said. “It just takes him a little bit of time to have that light go on at a new level. I think it’s part of his aggressive nature, but he doesn’t back down. He has a very strong will, strong mental makeup, where he will continue to fight and scrap until he does figure it out. And when he does, he makes up for it, because someone’s got to pay.”

Cubs just moved their single A team to the town I live in. (South Bend)

Shame it wasn't triple A, but still.

I get it. I've been following for a long, long time. I know he struggles, but it's hard for me to watch, and makes me feel really bad for the guy, to watch him get so defeated. Was glad to see him get a couple hits last night though.

I guess it's the Dad in me.

I'd prefer he struggle as opposed to come out and set the world on fire in meaningless games. Now he knows he has to work. I like baez, but he's cocky and isn't lacking for confidence. This humbles him, so he has to put in the work.
