He was #208 in rivals 250. He was #8 QB in his class and top 5 player in the state coming out of high school.

He was 6'5 with a strong arm who dominated the top level competition in the state. He didn't pan out like he was suppose to but to say he was recruited for depth is wrong. He was a major prospect.

I think he was mainly recruited for depth.

He started because of Perriloux.

But his lack of development was on the coaching staff.

And was never expected to play at LSU.

damn, Strozier looks just like Sproles. He's gonna be fun to watch. Seems like they signed him after seeing him in camp

Which is why he has excelled at football ever since leaving LSU. Oh wait other coaching staffs must not have developed him either.

Other coaching staffs didn't have to.

And here he is, being given another chance.

I'm not sure how a late bloomer (due to injury) high school prospect that played 4 years at LSU and is at an NFL mini camp would be considered biggest LA qb prospect disappointment? You ever heard of Brock Berlin? Maybe Ryan Perrilloux? There are guys that didn't make it as far as any of those names as well.

The JJ bashing is tiresome. He has a very outside shot of making it, but just get off his back.

By the way I'm not saying they recruited Jefferson to be a starter early, but I do think he was recruited with the expectation of having a redshirt year to put on weight and learn the offense. Sit behind Perriloux and Lee and start as a Junior or Senior.

Had that happened I think Jefferson may have been looked at differently here, but he was thrown into the fire early. Had some success, got a big head and never progressed much after that.

He wasn't recruited to be a project/depth QB like a Rivers.
