Why do liberals keep pimping racism? Were the comments insensitive? Yes. He grew up in a different time, and is not required to be politically correct. Nothing in the First Amendment says anything about being PC.
It is the typical "can't see the forest for the trees" scenario. Liberals miss the point completely, and focus on the only thing their short attention span can handle. He is not being a racist. He is being anti-governmental control.
I, for one, agree with him whole heartedly. I am not a racist in the slightest, but I often refer to the entire American population as slaves. The government (slave-driver) is constantly getting into our personal shite and taking it away. Freedom is slowly degrading in this nation.
This is what he was getting at. It seems after the days of MLK, things started on a downhill turn for everyone, not just African Americans. Bundy saying he wonders if they were not better off as slaves is foreshadowing what seems to be happening to us, toiling under harsh and stringent regulation by an entity that works for us, and does not own us by any means other than their own misled thought process as a governing body.

The outrage over the Govt. intervention in Mr. Bundy's cattle grazing habits is strong on the right. To say otherwise is disingenuous.

Your equating outrage at the government's response to Bundy as an endorsement of Bundy's actions. THAT is disingenuous.
You can believe Bundy is in the wrong, as most conservative commentators have admitted, and still think the BLM sending 200 armed agents to seize his cattle is ridiculous.
